Then, for the next 8 years and counting, Jow Forums has become not only far more controversial, but has actually started gaining influence as it seeps into mainstream culture (sort of like how /b/ more or less popularized some of the most important internet memes). On Friday, a trans liberal in my class brought up Jow Forums as a place where neo-Nazis congregate.
What really is this place? Is it a honeypot? Is it some sort of social experiment? Is it the tool of an NGO, a foreign government, a political party, or a foreign government? Or is it really just owned by some Asian guy who found a lucrative way to make money from advertising and traffic?

I'm pretty sure that Jow Forums's userbase has more than doubled since 2016, meaning that newfags are actually the majority. I was on /new/ the night is was shoah'd. There was a thread of the ongoing riots in Tunisia from a Tunisian user on the ground taking pics from his phone. This was right before the riots were dubbed the "Arab Spring." When I refreshed the page to see more posts, the thead had 404'd. Then I noticed the whole board 404'd so me and other /new/smen went wreaking havoc and shit posting on Jow Forums and /b/ until Joot gave us his reasoning.
Back then 100% of us hated Jews, Israel and every other thread was about national socialism or how disgusting the JIDF were. Most everyone sympathized with Palestinians too. It was a very different and much better place.
