Ah, then you're actually acting upon the injury, the ailment. It's the very idea of the person's suffering you are attacking because you hate that suffering when inflicted upon yourself. By attacking a value you deem "bad" on someone else, you are indirectly forming and enforcing your own worldview. Your benefactor is not only grateful to you, he is indebted to your system of belief that has determined his situation, his suffering as unfit. This is the beginning of how ideologies, worldviews form: beneficial action by those who have the power, the energy to act upon others. Act too harshly too often, and you'll build resentment. You'd be dominating their bodies without reaching their hearts. But their hearts are what determines how they act. They'll be inclined to respond to live as determined by your own empathy

You're entangling do-gooder behavior with empathy. Empathy is a human sense, some are more attuned to it than others and there's no controlling it with the conscious mind. Empathy takes time to integrate and sorting out what you're feeling and what you're picking up from others takes time. Empathy itself is not action upon others.

Actions as a result of empathy are an entirely another thing altogether and the quality of those actions has a lot to do with the person's understanding of the world and its underlying energies. The road to hell is paved with good intentions as they say and do-gooders have caused significant upheaval in the course of human history. An empathetic person who has an understanding of the underlying forces of this reality will know when to act and when not to instinctively and without having to actively decide their actions and they will do it fully understanding the situation which you've described as a possible scenario. They'll know that forcing and shoving against the natural flow of life for that person, even with good intentions, is an act of violence against the person or group of people being helped if that action was performed for the wrong reasons. This makes matured empathy the most ideal leadership trait and without it a leader cannot be trusted to act with the benefit of those who trust his leadership.

user, having empathy and compassion doesn’t make you “weak”. It can be an excellent strength as long as you don’t let it get in the way of important decisions. Having those qualities improves the longevity and long-term quality of relationships, builds deep and profound connections with others and overall makes you seem far more human.

People who are controlled by them are weak, but like most things, when kept in check and used properly, it can be invaluable.
