I also think the EU should do more to protect its borders. I think the EU's response to the 2015 migrant crisis was a big factor in pushing people towards Brexit. The EU should have been more willing to defend its borders.
But having said this, and as someone who voted leave, I'm thinking these days that staying in the EU is a better option. Firstly the economic reasons are quite substantial. I saw on the TV some working class haulage company owner, speaking with a cockney accent, and he was saying how much it would affect his business (and haulage / logistics between the UK and the EU in general) if there was Brexit. And of course this isn't to mention all the large company owners, like those who run Nissan and Airbus, who have said that Brexit will reduce their investment into the UK.
Also there is the factor of Ireland, and how people are saying it is more likely that Ireland will become united if Britain leaves the EU. Fuck that. Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom and I hope it remains as such for the rest of eternity.
