It's an interesting conundrum actually, especially in the world of sports. On one side of the spectrum, you have Messi, who at 5'7", is considered the absolute GOAT in the sport. However, on the other side, you have Ronaldo, who is also considered the GOAT, but stands at 6'2". But you also then have outliers, like Zlatan, who at 6'5", is one of the most impressive STs of all time, who can only be bested by someone like Maradonna, who is 5'5". For football, though, I think the best height is 5'7" to 6'0.

Maybe that's because the world is made for you? Everything is slightly too small when you're 6'4" so you're hunching every time you need to use a table and frequently ducking because door frames and ceilings are too low, it's pretty terrible for your posture, god knows what it's like for the really tall people.

Anyway OP, realistic answer is that it's easier to get a good shot of shorter people, especially if they're in lots of scenes with women because you can get close ups whilst they're both standing rather than a close up of the woman's face against the man's chest or him awkwardly hunching down.
