This will most likely be the reality in the not so far future, people voluntarily give up their freedom for convenience just to be able to use an app that uses algorithms to manipulate your emotions and behavior, to make you do things in their interest, they could manipulate you into feeling depressed or stressed and have you spend more on fast food or prescription drugs, this way companies can manipulate large population by constantly manipulate them on the emotional level and they would work together and consumers would be left completely unprotected and vulnerable

Think about it these companies have access to your emotions all the time, since everyone are addicted to their devices and its very difficult to live with out the technology, there would be no escape, they got you by the balls, and now people are beginning to insert chips into themselves. Corportions have access to your data but you anret able to know what shady deals they make with other corporations that design algorithms, theres no transparency.

People know that corporations can be evil and unethical but still buy from those same corporations because theres no other option or they don't simply care, since we keep letting them get a way with things like selling off our data to other actors like facebook did.
