For the Gen Z's that have reached the posting age:
How does life feel to you? Greentext example:
>Born Jan 2000 >Friends in early school >Slowly come to be okay with failure, but not life-threatening failure. >Dissociate, but doesn't feel lonely >Feel lifeless, but doesn't feel bad? >Accept the consequences of actions pretty quickly, seldom stress about near anything like failing the first semester of college without really worrying >Not irresponsible, but chronically lazy Tl;Dr:
>Life is a mess and it sucks hard cock, but I'm aware of that fully and accept it. What happens happens, and we're all alone in this life with no meaning >But I'm chill with that concept
Did you just see that meme one day and decide that it's fact? I've never met someone who is "chill with the concept that life is meaningless and we're all alone"
Colton Bailey
I believe that mankind will be overwhelmingly different in 20 to 50 years from now. As in, a really bad future.
Lincoln Watson
Not sure if '99 makes me a zoomer, I really hope it doesn't but I'm dating a girl two years younger than me and we still have the same attitudes to pretty much everything. I think the future is pretty grim for a lot of reasons but the biggest one is female led households. I should know, I was raised by a single mom for a long time.
Also, nihilism is peak meme ideology. Do some reading on absurdism instead.
Cameron Howard
Zoomer here >grew up with my gameboys and nintendo ds >tfw Minecraft was the shit yo >listened to 70s, 80s, 90s music and dislike current music >animes like wan piss and naturo >twin towers seem like a bad fever dream yeah
Jacob Barnes
As a 33 year old user who spent about half his life offline, it seems to me like younger millenials and zoomers are the ones who freak the fuck out about everything the most.
All this Alt Right vs SJW shit is something that 19 year olds made up a few years ago. None of that existed in my day. Being plugged in 16 hours a day and constantly reading up on world news and social issues that have no direct consequence on your life but still have to worry about because it gives you a sense of belonging and identity has to be awful for Zoomers.
When I was a teen I would sometimes catch a glimpse of the evening or night news and half-listen to what was going on in the world or country and I didn't care I just went on with the rest of my day and my life why should I sweat over people I've never met and things that don't concern me? I just wanna beat off to Archie comics.
Also the whole aspect about how back in the day, a kid could just shit his pants in school or throw up in the middle of class or cry after getting rejected by a girl or whatever and it would be embarassing for a week and then people would mostly forget about it and move on.. These days kids can't sneeze without having 29 other classmates all pull out their phones and film it and share. Also, nudes. That's a zoomer problem that I never experienced.
Adam Parker
>zoomer >>twin towers seem like a bad fever dream
what why did it disrupt your kindergarten nap time?
Nathan Rogers
OP here
Maybe. I was raised by WWII era great grandparents (That I currently moved back in with because they're old as dirt and need help around the house and yard) and was taught to thy neighbor and all that shit.
Mother was never there.
Father taught me that work is everyrhing in life. Father: >Son, you go to school to get a job, work that job, and die.
Wyatt Martin
Nah, I meant it as it seems like it never happened and it was just a dream, it feels unreal that something like that ever happened and it understandably shocked people a lot. In comparison, nowadays we have terrorist attacks in which only up to 50 people die tops and that's a huge tragedy so I can't even imagine how it felt to see the twin towers attack on the news.
Jack Ward
>think the future is pretty grim for a lot of reasons but the biggest one is female led households.
You sure do sound like a zoomer. Literally the safest era in all of human history and you still think that doomsday is around the corner. It's not really your fault though it's cause you were raised on the internet.
But your anti-female thing is definitely all you. You were raised by your mommy so all women all across the world are just like your mommy.
Landon Morris
Spent a lot of time inside and studying anatomy and phys.
Gives a person a long while to themselves, y'know? Got to thinking, and deduced that the feelings I've experienced for a long while now were a culmination of these rough concepts.
The meme adds hilarity, though. Gives me a good chuckle every time.
Did you forget that memes are spawned by any individual's personal life experience, user? (inb4 "And social critique)
Ayden Walker
I'll do you one even better: school shootings used to be a big deal. People all over the world talked about Columbine for months and months and even years, until school shootings started happening every other week.
Camden Brown
Not him but bruh I wasn't even in kindergarten yet. I was like 2.
Based Camusposter.
>Literally the safest era in all of human history and you still think that doomsday is around the corner. Wasn't the doomsday clock just at the closest it's been since the Cuban missile crisis?
>Maybe widespread, instant access to any knowledge was a bad idea?
It's a philosophical concept I like to think about now and again. Back in the day, people could be stupid by themselves. Now, your retardation is spread through the universality accessible medium of the internet
Ayden Howard
99 kid here.
imo millenials set my expectations for life so low that now that im in college and renting out a place to live and all it doesnt seem so bad. i feel like life is pretty easy.
pretty sure making and keeping friends and relationships is going to be impossible since more and more people will be going out less and less
Nolan Flores
OP
Yeah? Possibly because we've been seeded with the idea (fact?) That the human race is naturally selfish and self-serving. Social interaction is tough nowadays - everyone is suspecting everyone now. Instead of seeing others as a potential social connection, we are wired to associate the personallu unknown to danger more than ever.
Nathan Morgan
>to any knowledge
The mainstream commercially-available internet was around for like 15-20 years before Alt Right vs SJW showed up and people started using avatars of Anime girls or Pepe.
The fact that people have virtually unlimited instant access to nearly all of human history's recorded information and media is a great thing.
It's when people's opinions started taking over is when bad ideas started to spread like wildfire. When blogs and of course later social media took over, including Jow Forums.
Julian Thompson
>Oct. 2000 >Sperg >Really shit at expressing myself >...
D-did I do alright guys?
Thomas Brown
OP
Indeed. You make a great point, user.
Could recent turnings be a result of the spread of propaganda -like ideas of the "Life should be Fair" meme? Or, maybe >I'm different so I'm special
Brody Moore
OP
>Shit at expression
I feel you. That's been a common problem for forever. It may be a meme by this point, but practice makes perfect. Maybe try writing? Online roleplay worked for me. It expanded my vocabulary by a fucking mile, and gave me a broader sense of life experience by expressing hypothetical situations that characters go through. >By thinking about something really hard, you develop a better brain.
But that's just me. Sorry for rambling, user, but there's your piece of shitty advice.

What's the longest you #teens spent without the internet? Hours? Days at most?
It's crazy to me that I'm part of the last generation that grew up offline, I may as well be from the 1800s
James Gomez
24 here I grew up with a computer but it wasnt connected to the internet for a long time and I just bought bootleg floppy games and asked friends for games like earth worm jim.
Justin Cruz
a) it's pretty difficult to actually get away from it. Huge components of all of my classes are exclusively online. All of my banking is done online. I need to use email for my job. b) I went a month during the summer, but I had to intentionally go beyond cell reception. Yeah you were born before electricity, congratulations.
Aiden Taylor
18, M here I wasted my youth playing on my GBA and DS while everyone made friends and wonderful childhood memories. now I barely have any friends to speak of, nor do I have the charisma and social intelligence to make any more in college. Every day I head for my classes, eat alone, then hide in my room. I see no purpose in life other than to work and eventually die, It's not all that scary for me, mostly lonely.
Xavier Baker
I'm not trying to flaunt the fact that I grew up with newspapers and phone books, that shit actually sucked, I'm just genuinely curious about the longest amount of time Gen Zs have gone offline.
Aiden Parker
>August 2000 It's a very interesting time to be alive, everywhere on earth. I see a bright future for my country, and maybe the world. I hope I'll see people uniting as I grow up. I hope all the people who came in my country during my teens (refugees and immigrants) choose to stay, and build something better here. Nothing would make me happier growing up.
I have been on the internet and on forums since I was 10 and in the last years internet got so massive. More people are browsing than ever. Sometimes it feels like fake news etc triggered everyone into an hateful mess. But before It gets better, it gotta get worse.
Aaron Carter

Actually I'm into creative writing and online RP, started a novel but never finished beyond the first chapter obviously. I guess I just struggle to make my thoughts coherent. Most of the time I can find the words to say precisely what I mean but when I try to get my fucked up head into gear and explain myself to people that's where I hit a snag.
Such is life I guess.
Kevin Walker
i dont think that we were seeded with that idea at all. i think that, as a teenager, your inner edgelord is telling you that
not being optimistic and enthusiastic about people has led me nowhere
Jose Wilson
Use my PC at the absolute very least 4 or 5 hours a day, on my phone at least 2-3 hours. I've spent many long days playing games from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep with breaks for meals.
I spend mornings watching YouTube on my phone and evenings when I get home from college playing games on PC or browsing this hellhole when I've had a drink or two. I don't have social media but I rely heavily on emails for college work, job opportunities, important banking info and stuff like that. My life would not be possible without the internet to a large degree.
Longest I've been without internet is about 2 weeks when I go camping with the senpai in the summer although even then I use my mobile data to check up on the news and browse sites when I'm bored.
Ethan Powell
This. Every generations of teenager/20 year olds will always have a group of them who feel like the world is ending and people are shit. When you're still in the tail-end of puberty, everything is dramatic.
Christian Martinez
OP >Inner edgelord You might be right, but I don't want to think of it that way. People are good, but there are a l o t of bad eggs scattered about.
Christian Ross
>Everything is dramatic
Romanticism of ideas is the ideal way of expression. That is, until those exaggerated musings begin to dictate an individual's demeanor and personality. I like to think that my opinions are expression, but not a declaration. It's a quiet acceptance that I think everyonw would be better off realizing. Once the nihilism is accepted, one can start to truly appreciate the joys of this existence.
>Dramatic You got me there after all, I suppose. GG, user.
Dylan Anderson
I'm not anti female, re-read my post, I have a girlfriend. You can't say single parents don't fuck their kids up though, prisons are primarily full of men raised by single mothers.
Isaiah Turner
>born in 1999 >good childhood: friends, stuff to do, shit was fun >move country >no friends, tried to make friends, failed every time >stop trying >realize the only thing wrong in my life is being lonely, everything else is literally perfect >so fuck it, live with the loneliness >apathetic af now but don't even care Yeah, just kinda living out of curiosity, I suppose I have "goals" and "dreams" but I could care less if I do or do not accomplish them.
Ian Torres
I was raised only by my mother and even though she wasn't perfect I'm happy my dad wasn't around. He was very abusive.
Anyway, then you should say 'households led by single parents"
Adam Sanders
So it's the women's fault that the fathers/husbands ran off?
> think the future is pretty grim for a lot of reasons but the biggest one is female led households. I should know, I was raised by a single mom for a long time.
I was raised by my dad and he beat the shit out of me because he's an even bigger autistic retard than me but I don't go about saying that Males are evil and are responsible for ruining the planet and whatever
Brody Adams

It's good to know I'm not alone in this emotion, user. How do you cope? I stated earlier that I roleplay and write to keep my mind busy.

Where are your abused sadboys coming from? Thank God I'm not American. Fathers are actually praised for what they do
You. Ungrateful little shit
Connor Green
OP In psychology, the mental health of a child is prioritized over the physical safety of the child.
Strange, hiw the US (my country) ignores mental health as much as they can. A kid is abused, and it's the kid's fault for not being tough. I agree, but that only go so far.
Colton Perry
Cringe Not american btw but someone will lose thier shit on your bait anyway

Do a extroverted hobby like biking, boxing, rugby, football, antyhing that lets you get together in a club with other men and enjoy comraderie, competition and doing stuff together. T. 27yo bloomer who's been in your shoes and slowly turned life around doing exactly that in my late teens and whole twenties
Anthony Lopez
the internet takes my mind out of the real world, that helps
Jackson Butler
Shit fucking sucks, and that pic is definitely somewhat accurate. My teen years have been a huge confliction between what I'm told, and what I'm experiencing.
It's this massive divide between what my parents and relatives think my life is, and what my life actually is. My father is constantly going on about how he's so confounded that I have a box on me that can call anyone at any time anywhere, and yet I don't have a lot of friends. Little do they know that the crutch of online communication is the reason I have trouble socializing.
I get told that it's easier to make money than every, because of shit like Uber and YouTube, but no one seems to realize that that's not, at all, a lucrative or viable career path.
I get told that with things like Tindr it's easier than ever to find a gf, but what they don't realize is that those relationships rarely go beyond hookups.
And whenever I actually try to raise issues about my life and how modern conviences have affected me negatively, I get shut down and am lectured about how hard things were for my parents, so I kind of have to adopt an ironic/satirical outlook, or I can't express negative emotions at all.
Zachary Edwards
I was born in 1986 and got a home computer installed around 1998. AMA.

>1999 Was born pretty poor. Didn't have Internet or any technology really stretching past game boy colour until I entered my teens. Never really had much social media until around 16 when it got to the point I needed it for my studies. At this point my view on life is that you just do what makes you happy. No one really cares about your problems. No one's gonna swoop in to make your life better so just do what you can with what you have and try to be content.
Isaac Powell
19 year old zoomer here, I'm actually happy with the meaninglessness of existance. It relives me of societal pressures and the burden of purpose.
Luke Watson
The Doomsday Clock isn't "real", user. It's an arbitrary concept devised by scientific/academic journals so they can get gibs-me-dats from the government and instill fear in the people.

By what metrics do you discern the safety of the world, and our future?
Justin Wilson
well now you've meet me. But im definitely not the only one. its also a bit of a meme on tumblr I guess it truly is a gen z thing
Lincoln Martin
I mean I’m terrified of becoming my parents or my older siblings (millennials) who are well into adulthood with no direction in life, but that’s pushing me to be more responsible and ready for the future. On the down side, petrified of what degeneracy society could devolve into in the future, seeing how fucking awful it’s become in the last decade, and I do have a mini-freakout thinking of the millennials taking over political positions in the future. Also, social security and retirement. Trying to see silver linings though because I know gen z is said to be a lot more careful than our predecessors. And I don’t know if it’s just me or zoomers in general, but socializing is really difficult. I can get along with just about anyone but it feels like no one is really “best friends” or anything anymore. The best relationships I’ve formed have been with adults, and it’s taken some time getting used to being so open and social with them. I kind of blame technology. I hate that my parents have kept me so sheltered, too.
