Have any of you had success with a cold day approach in public area?
I've never cold approached and most women I have met it's taken the course of a few months to finally succeed in asking them on a date. The closest I've gotten to a cold approach was in college but it was a reversal - the girl approached me first but we had a class together so I was acquainted with her a little bit.
Every time I imagine cold approaching a girl in public during the day I just imagine them denying me and getting creeped or nervously giving me their number and never replying to any texts.

You've never heard of the 'cold approach'? In PUA lingo it means approaching people without prior acquaintance, as in complete strangers that you think are attractive. Salesmen also use the term and I've heard the term applied to asking a question to someone without prior research ie a 'cold question'.

I have but it landed me time with a SJW so I turned 360 degrees and walked away. It does and can work. The problem is most people are doing it intently to get 'with' the woman. I have perfected disarming because I want to stay very far away from the issue of miscommunication. I've had lots of problems over that. So, by now, I'm quite able to give off a disarming air.
That being said, it's because I always want to start at the friendship stage. Almost always my cold approaches are to expand the social circle, usually off someone I clicked a little with. Social Justice, kids. Not even once.

as a woman I wouldn't mind being approached ''cold'' to be honest, depends on the person and the timing I guess. My advide is just go for it, take a couple hits, maybe you'll win sometime.

I have had a small handful of dates in my life from cold approaching in public. Almost every time, I made my intentions clear and asked her for her number quickly. Maybe we chatted for a moment, but not really more until we dated.
Unfortunately none of these random-in-public cold approach dates turned into a relationship. But I did get a few relationships by cold approaching girls at their work.
