Heirlooms ruined organic, world PVP, and cross-realm dungeons and battlegrounds ruined socialization and networking for the sake of expediency.

There was something "real" in going into the chatroom to set up a group by hand. Also, Heirlooms made it so you would have to be wearing Heirlooms too just to compete with them in world PVP, no more questing for new gear while leveling up. So fucking retarded. If they wanted to expedite the leveling process for players who chose to do so, they could have just done an XP%+ ring.

It's sad to see so much sacrificed on the altar of expediency and laziness. BC came out during high school, I took a long break afterwards, I came back during Cataclysm, and I knew the game was dead. What was the point of even making friends anymore when everything was cross-realm?

When I first got into computer games was around the release of diablo 1. Every blizzard game from 1999 to later wow was pretty good. Wow changed the company in a bad way. "Diablo 3" just kind of sealed the deal, because it was so accessible that it made the core diablo 1 audience mostly turned off by the bright colors, lack of horror elements, and shorty story. Diablo 2 lost some of the horror elements too, but I'm still really fissapiintsd in every non gameplay aspect of 3.

I won't stoop to resorting back to old WoW, not because it is bad but because I believe there can be new awesome adventures to be had.

It is their property. They spent a lot of money and a lot of paid people with good skill made WoW, why should a bunch of pooper scoopers have a right to have private servers.

Money lost by private servers should be given to the retail game so Blizzard can get financially more strong to invest in making WoW better.

All blizzard had to do was swoop in and offer a licensing deal in which blizzard allowed a very restrictive grant of licensing on the condition that the private server people gave blizzard a disproportionate % of any revenue. In a game with absolutely no consequences how am I supossed to feel any tension or investment? In fact with my warlock I remember in panderia just pulling as many mobs as I could because with raid gear even the enemies on daily quest island wouldn't stand a chance. What's the fucking point? Diablo 3 was just not a diablo game. It felt like a spinoff created by a different company. The story is super disrespectful to the established lore of D1 and D2. Not to mention the rediculous decision make the game online only as DRM. Just stupid because I'm not playing hardcore characters online, it's just too risky. One disconnect to lag and you're time has been wasted. Everything about it was mismanaged. Even though the combat is fun everything else has just been ruined. Fuck blizzard. They could've raked in the cash too, just make a super low effort expansion or dlc for druids like D2 and they have made millions in net profit. It went from adventure through ashvenvale, getting to level 60-70-80 doing epic raids to, wake up and start your 9 - 5 shift, making sure you meet your deadlines and quota on 10 different aspects of the game in order to feel satisfied.

I've been playing on a 1x Private Vanilla PvP Server. Never played Vanilla before. It's alright. Can find groups for just about every elite quest and dungeon and people are generally easygoing and friendly.

But man, the time investment needed is immense. I don't think I could get away with it if I weren't a NEET.

The developers ruined the name plates over the enemies because one autistic raiding group was using the api to get an advantage so now all the nameplates are ugly as sin and clash with the old art style. Blizzard dont care, because fuck anyone trying to get ahead in their retarded time sink simulator.

Exactly they went from talking in a real practical sense and basically imported the corporate language and dismantled/neutered all of their own creatives from within.

They chose to make the next quarter look a little better at the expense of literally all of their previously built goodwill. Too bad that isn't what got them to a position of dominance. Using words like reorganization instead of layoffs. Using words and figures like MAUs and such to do nothing more than figure out how to best monetize the remaining playerbase at any given moment for the short term for all of their franchises.

As soon as finance guys start to take over any gaming company its toasted faster than Quiznos. Its actually been like this for a while at Blizzard, but they have tried desperately to keep the lid contained. Things like the latest blizzcon merely revealed to all what had been going on behind the curtains since at least 2012.

That is why I am looking forward to Classic. Perhaps with the influx of money coming in from people like me who haven't played WoW since Cataclysm they can learn their lesson and start making Azeroth great again.

this. I played for years. Never even came close to endgame content. I still had fun because i'm pretty casual. It was cool to go hang out in a cartoon world w/ my brother, but damn the time people sunk into that shit is insane.

I remember playing BC and really enjoying the new zones that were opened up and I felt the game was balanced and felt right. I also liked the Draenei and Blood Elves.

I was but a teenager and a casual player and you all might remember things in more detail than I did, but I am old enough to remember hitting level 60 grinding with my Undead rogue in the Plaguelands, so I was there.

BELFs brought on a mass migration of Alliance kids/tards who wanted a pretty avatar. The groups I was in that were shit were 100% majority BELF.

I can't think of a single useless spec desu. Sure they couldn't all be used for raids, but each had a niche for something.

The game is a zombie. Nobody except those who have nothing else to do in their life still play nu-wow

Classic WoW will I think attract quite a few people who missed that time of their life when everything was awesome. That game was the personification of that time period.

It was a great game but made for a different time period and generation. Who knows, the millennials might actually enjoy playing this because for the first time in their life they have a challenge and not a participation trophy.

I played in early 2000's and P99 past few years. EQ1 is definitely a very flawed game but overall a more enjoyable experience.
It is, which is surprising since the server is stuck on Velious forever. That is, unless they make new content, but from the looks of it most people in P99 haven't a fucking clue what game design is.
Oh I hated that shit. But that's one of the reasons why nobody fucks around in dungeons due to the consequences. Might as well just play it safe and camp out in overland for xp and then stop by east commonlands to trade for one of those rare weapons which are so god damn over saturated.
This so fucking much senpai. I got my monk deleted from their servers since one morning I decided to kill some beetles around Estate of Unrest. Well some higher leveled group ran to zone due to train so i feigned death to avoid dying. Well some reason they accused me of pulling it since I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I told them I didn't, they didnt believe me, they threatened to report me and then flicked me off over and over. Next day my character was gone. I had no ability to rebuttal that idiotic accusation.
Nobody told on you....yet.
It's almost as if the entire raid concept for classic EQ1 was extremely flawed. The challenge isn't the fight, it's the autistic timesink of waiting over and over for a respawn.
