“At the sight of the Neckar slopes wreathed with flowering cherry trees, I had a strong sense of having come home. What a beautiful country it was, and eminently worth our blood and our lives. Never before had I felt its charm so clearly."

How's so? Last time I checked, mass 3rd world immigration to Norway slowed down AFTER Utoya.

In my opinion it's split pretty even, a lot of people are closeted supporters of the Ustashe. Most people like the 'Domobrani' (regular Croatian WW2 forces) a lot more than the Ustashe. IMO the Ustashe did a lot of unneeded crimes, such as killing completely innocent civilians. My greatgrandfather fought alongside Ustashe to the end and quite a lot of them were bloodthirsty.
nothing to do with him. Norway always gives two terms to the opposition. Now the conservatives are in power but they will be gone come next election. And then the immigration will be back up again
On his CV: Best diplomat in American History, saw the civilized world (through the rise of Napoleon, no less), and then used his knowledge to come back and help his fellow citizens. Disdain for electioneering that spawned the modern American political circus. Had his father's views on noblesse oblige and the role of the privileged aristocracy in American civilization. Named the (((MASONS.))) Worked in the house of representatives after his tenure as President, fighting to hold the union together. He predicted that the civil war was inevitable and that slavery would be a key issue, as well as the rise of an American empire. Was nice enough to keep a diary for basically his entire life, which provides a fascinating perspective into the life, thought process, and ideals belonging to one of the most generally forgotten presidents. Very Christian, and exclusively Christian. Arguably the highest IQ of any American president ever.
All in all, he isn't perfect (his presidency was hurt by his unwillingness to fire people who hated him, for a limited example), but I think that he provides "the model" for what an American citizen or statesman should aspire to.
