Though when you look at the party ratings you'd think that the comments would be much more balanced. I think the thing is that Delfi just has an over-representation of right leaning commenters because old lefty boomers just read old fashioned newspapers and can't be bothered with online news. Honestly it's not an ethnostate. Only 67% of our population is Estonian according to official statistics and this doesn't even count the tens of thousands of illegal Ukranian workers that have been coming here. It's true that their levels are falling but we are still at a very troubling level. I see multiple women with baby strollers daily here and EKRE is planning on increasing benefits for large families even more than any other party. Things are looking up but if we can't keep this growth going then it's possible that we will fall off and get to 50% by 2100. The constitution does say that Estonia is an ethnostate but it does a poor job of defining what an 'Estonian people' are. The other problem with that is that the current government clearly doesn't care about the people's opinion (forced migration pact through with 80+% opposing it) and they care little about upholding the constitution. There are so many things that need to go absolutely right to fix us that I think in our classic Estonian apathy it's going to take a while to recover. Things are looking up but we must still talk about what isn't.

Even in that case we'd still be able to recover the situation. Narva residents are actually the ones most worried about a conflict regardless of whether they are Russian or Estonian. The Russians could send meme insurgents to chimp out but they wouldn't get the actual support of the people. Even without NATO I don't see how we couldn't just push them back to the other side of the river. The Russians can back them all they want but we'd have our full potential in use from official to non governmental military organizations and we'd still have the people.
