With everything going on in the modern world is this line of philosophical thought more valid than ever or is it more of use in a time when our cities arent overrun by foreigners and political elite actively trying to replace us?

Understand what the Logos is to Stoics. In essence, it defines our reality and the very nature of existence. Thus, it could be said that to understand how a Stoic should live in accord with what is natural, how what is natural is good, and how nothing that acts against nature can persist is equivalent with better understanding what is going on and what is bound to fail.
Stoicism shows that the most grandiose plans of man can only succeed if they work in accord with what is natural. Thus, looking to your example of being replaced, that action can only succeed if it is done in a way that is natural; historically, it has only successfully occurred in a very slow fashion (ex. early American Melting Pot).
So, by having a better understanding of nature (of the world around us as well as humanity itself), you can at least see the writing on the wall of what will work and what won't. Consider it a type of prescience, and do with it as you will.
