I'm in VA too, came from California. Not that big of a change, I expected a bit more right-wing attitudes, but VA is truly purple which is nice.
It's a bit pricey, though, pricier than I would have thought even in CoVA. But I'm not sure where else I'd live that was decent but cheaper.

Illinois. It's kinda fantastic how one state can so completely embody all the worst aspects of America.
I think the only positive is how lax they are with weapons outside of Chicago, but it doesn't really matter. Everyone outside of Cook country is too depressed and hopped up on opioids to actually rob you.

Used to live in Alabama. Been in Maryland for about a month now. Pretty big difference in general attitudes. Alabama folk aren't afraid of getting loud and having a fuss while these yankees here in Maryland seem very reserved in relation. It's quite a difference but a welcome one for me.
