Like said before, he is an Eurasianism shill. He does analyse the situation of russia in the same way the Kremlin understand it, its not that he is pushing an idea only he believes. The western powers would like to wreck russia for resources, dominance, and the women due to the lack of white babies in the west. The way to best defend russia is with some of the strategies he has outlined, both he and Putin believe that the collapse of the USSR was a strategic mistake, not because of the communism, but because the USSR dominated a near impenetrable geographic position. My argument is that the geography of Russia gives the country enormous defensive capabilities which is why the western powers want to destabilize it so that Russia does not become powerful. Dugin sees the geography and the geopolitics in a very clear way, in a way that both Russia and the Western powers see it. So in my opinion reading Dugin does shed light on why Russia and the West have the policies they do.

That's true. But not entirely. We're the largest country in the fucking world man. We have shitloads or resources (including the largest reserves of fresh water in the world) and we're still a developing economy. Yet we're still a pretty powerful country and that's why globalists and imperialists see us as a threat to their ambitions, just as they always have.

Dugin is a Heideggerian and Russian Nationalist. He believes in the "spirit" of the Soviet Union without many of it's policies. He wants the influence the USSR gave Russia in the middle east and Asia (i.e. Eurasia) but he doesn't want the atheistic policies and he believes in hierarchy, unlike the commies who believe in Equality.

He isn't a racialist (he's probably ethnically Eurasian himself) but he acknowledges that each race possesses it's own qualities and is unique.

He wants a uniquely Russian fascism. He wants Russia to take back it's place on the world stage. He's not a communist (which is a good thing) but he's willing to appropriate communist aesthetics. [That's part of the reason he experimented with the NazBol aesthetic in the 90s.] This is due to the fact that many older Russians have a fond view of the USSR before it's fall and subsequent liberalization. He sees history as a living spirit in the same way that Hegel does.
