For instance, Marvel Studios has been making films for ten years. All of those films star white people and popular white actors. All white men and all set in America or has American music as the backdrop (Guardians). Hell, Captain America is one of the main characters of the universe. That is certainly pandering to white people, more notably white Americans. But somehow pandering to black people, women, or other minorities (even if they are not native to America unlike Black people) is an issue and worth tons of discussion, but most films pander to white people and that's seen as normal. It's bullshit. Black Representation matters. I encourage you to do your research on it. If a child for example, doesn’t see themselves represented in certain ways, they’ll think those things are unattainable because they don’t fit the “look.”
Thankfully, I love that my people are becoming more and more present in the entertainment sector, and I'm loving it. A small taste of what it has been like for White Americans/Whites to constantly see themselves everywhere in the past; it's nice.
