Why are bathing suits acceptable for women to wear in public, but not bra and underwear?
Nowadays, bra and underwear provide more cover. And women’s bathing suits get skimpier and skimpier every year. In 10 years, women’s bathing suits will probably be so small they’ll be impossible to see without a microscope.
Bathing suits are not acceptable more than 15 ft away from a pool or beach. Belly button showing is inherently lewd. There is no double standard, these women and those who call it acceptable are just hell bound reprobates.

Underwear is worn in intimate settings, so its implied that you're being intimate with the person who sees you in them.
