Ask for a raise

What if "ask your boss for a raise" became a meme?

Wages are stagnating. People are voting for socialists just to get the minimum wage increased. Instead, people could just fucking ask for a raise. If everyone did it, it wouldn't be taboo.

I tried that and my boss fires me a few days later. Took me 3 months to get a paycheck at another job.

Probably lost $10K overall.

Is it taboo to ask your boss for a raise?

1/10

Learn to cope

Many jobs are now on pay scales/grades. Bosses don't have the ability to give raises in these situations. It's entirely based on your experience, education, certification, etc. All must be documented. This isn't 1994, unfortunately.

Should've killed your boss and his family.

You sound like a gigantic fucking pussy and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Sounds made up.

>everyone deserves a raise
No.

You need to work at more startups. Companies usually just use a predetermined scale.

*big companies

Don't forget "objective" performance reviews.

you don't get a raise by asking
in fact you don't really get a raise at all
you get a "raise" by switching companies
some industries now it's considered unusual to be at the same company for more than 3 years

this.
most people should be paid much MUCH less for their "jobs"

This. I'm about to move from a larger company to a smaller one that is younger and wanting to expand. The smaller company is offering better salary and benefits. Other coworkers, at the larger company, are about to abandon ship too.

Don't even remind me. Then if you get a bad one, you have to (tail between legs) petition for a new review.

Your idea is almost genius, OP, but for another purpose: to get feminists fired from their jobs.

We could meme that women have been exploited for long and the only way to make things right is to "fight like a girl". The way to do it is to "ask for a raise" in order to correct the wage gap, so that women can finally get the equality they deserve. The obvious effect would be several feminists getting fired after demanding stupid shit for their employers.

>after demanding stupid shit FROM
Fix'd.

>market is right
>people should be paid less

Pick one cuckservative.

Also, while it doesn't have great pay, government contract work has really good benefits depending on your field.

You can't really ask for a raise, if you work at any company that has their shit together they have a standard rate that they are paying everyone.
Asking for a raise is one of those boomerisms like giving them a firm handshake when applying for the job.
Wages are stagnating because labor has no leverage. It's funny how many dumbass zoomers are on here who want to abolish the minimum wage so they can larp as some big dawg ancap boomer baron or whatever.
First we gotta abolish the minimum wage goys, some work simply isn't worth $7.25 an hour.
After that big business will laugh their ass off that you twerps were dumb enough to fall for it and then they'll start a new meme about how we need to abolish the 40 hour work week and 80 hours should be the new full time.

>if everyone does it
If everyone GETS a raise, yeah. But that's a worst case scenario no worse than communism. At least there's a not-worst case scenario.

Most (((employers))) would rather have you work for much less if not for free if it wasn't for laws and sheeeit, user

>everyone getting a small raise is comparable to communism
It’s time to stop posting.

Oh yeah, because if it weren’t for laws you would just go work for free for the rest of your life

Unfortunately, OP, Almost everyone in this thread is correct; if you go to your JOB for a raise, you have to take skill into account, and if you're already making minimum wage, then skill isn't something that job is thinking about.
Minimum Wage literally means
>We'd pay you less, but it's illegal

You basically HAVE to go through legislation to raise the minimum wage.

The ultimate solution would be a constitutional amendment to raise the national minimum wage to a livable standard, adjusted by inflation yearly.

That's called slavery and it actually exists.
Let me guess, warm-hearted "employers" would never do something like that because they deeply care for you or something.

Musta been all that WHITE privilege.

Not my fault you aren't getting your employers to hire you at the rate you wanted to have. When I get hired at a new company it's inevitably the 2nd to last question they ask me. Lern 2 git gud at what you do, you mong

People are cucks I negotiate a wage so high during interviewing I have on multiple occasions been told to absolutely not discuss it because people there 10+ years don't make that and it's still a shit wage tbqh

Shitty times

I did once. He gave me a 2k raise one year, and a 1k one the next year when I asked again, as an insult. He made 150k and his 2IC made 120k, I was making 60k for 60-80hr weeks and running his whole business, socially and operationally.

I made him fire me on bogus harassment - long story - and got a large payout for shutting up. All the long timers left, and they lost all the major clients for not having a clue how to run their own business.

So, that's what happened when I insisted on a raise.

Wages are stagnat? But that’s wrong you fucking retard. Biggest increases in 50 years lately.
I’m making about 15k more than five years ago, and less taxes too.

And my dick is a foot and a half long.

Dumb lies

Same. At my last place I was making close to $10 an hour more than a guy who had been there for 7 years with an identical position to me

>living in America
>becoming a slave
Buy a gun you stupid pussy

The fuck are you talking about?

you could have just said above average

Listen, Skippy what I wrote earlier is that since I know what I can get for my level of skill employers ask me how much I want per hour as they hire me. Since I start at a given company making what I want from day one I don't need to wheedle for a raise since I am not getting fucked on my pay like you are

You knew what I wanted

I asked for one last month, and I got it

Do you have schizophrenia or illiteracy problems?

>What if "ask your boss for a raise" became a meme?
You'd probably get fired and a foreign replacement instated.

I tried that and my boss told me I was retarded. I agreed. Ended up getting my raise as expected.

>Fill a gallery with paintings
>They're so boring and meaningless that the people gathered for the exhibit don't even look at them or talk about them at all
>It's literally just a room full of pretty colors for pretentious cunts to stand around and act important in

I know your post wasn't about that picture, but holy shit.
