Did Amazon really pay $0 in taxes to the Federal Government?
Jacob Collins
Liam Price
anybody else wanna rub that bald head while fucking his throat?
Tyler Ortiz
Yep. Last year too.
11 point something billion dollars delivering dildos and paper towels to middle-class shitheads.
Liam Williams
They paid $0 in one of numerous kinds of taxes that apply to businesses. Rest assured, they pay far more in taxes in one gorillionth of a second than what will be paid by you, everyone you know, and all of your descendents combined for the duration of your lives.
Noah Perry
>They pay
I assumed the $0 figure was bullshit but wanted it spoken of in a thread and didn't want to dig for it.
Blake Jackson
They pay all tax. There's nothing wrong with a company reinvesting their profits instead of just cashing out, which results in more jobs, which results in more taxes collected. Anyone with any business experience knows this is completely normal. They still pay capital gains, employment tax, sales tax, SSN tax, regulatory fees, local taxes, payroll taxes, contractor 1099s and so on.
Colton Powell
>TFW you don't own any amazon stock.
man if only capitalism could find a way for the common man to own a portion of these massive companies and profit off of their success....
William Hall
Kys bootlicking boomer
Ryder Wright
Not an argument, faggot. Your job is to explain why it's inherently more ethical for their investors to just cash out than it is for Amazon to reinvest their profits into hiring more employees and improving their operations like they currently do.
Asher Rogers
Idk but 2/3 of all us corporations pay net 0 federal income taxes.
Adrian Flores
They actually payed negative income tax if you add in all the government grants.
Sebastian Smith
imagine thinking that lol
Isaiah Moore
So did GE a few years back. If its legal its legal. Why would you care who paid what other than what you paid? You dont get any of what they would have paid. So why care?
Adam Green
Somebodys poor
Nathaniel Sanders
People ITT that don't understand accounting loss and business growth.
You niggers can name 20 genders and dont even understand the basics of economics.
Noah Kelly
At the level of Bezos and Zuck, you don't only not pay tax, the taxpayer pays you. Whether it's bezos' multi hundred million dollar glownigger deal or Obama propaganda gibs dumped on you
Jose Ramirez
They reinvested the money. They did pay use or sales tax, they paid payroll taxes, they created thousands of jobs, and many more outside their company that rely on them to sell their products, or deliver their products, or ship their products, etc... they purchase benefits in large pools which helps reduce the cost of insurance for other people. The government is still making an lot of money off them. They can afford the best tax attorneys in the world... of course they are going to figure out every loop hole. If a tax attorney can save you hundreds of millions... you'd shell out millions for the benefit too, wouldn't you?
Jason Cox
Same with Netflix and probably many more.
Julian Williams
No, there are various federal government taxes and corporate income taxes are just a minor part. Why the US doesn’t abolish corporate income taxes is beyond me. These taxes only burden small businesses while you can legally model them to 0 in large businesses.
Tax receipts from federal corporate income tax are falling below 1% of GDP towards 0.5% of GDP. I say, just replace the whole system with a VAT and be done with. Easy to manage, easy to administer, you can’t fucking manipulate it with tax haven headquarters and small companies aren’t hit by it and would flourish with 0% income tax.
What you want is generally low personal income taxes and some 20% VAT and fund the whole federal, state and local govs with that VAT. It’s not called the fair tax proposal for nothing, it is thr FAIREST system out there and you don’t even need the IRS any more.
Jace Thompson
Shit! Who let Ocasio-Cortez in this thread?
Caleb Bennett
should get rid of eyebrows too retard
Hudson Young
Yes. Its in the tax code. Loss carry over deduction. If we didn't have it, companies would fold when they had a bad year. Next year, they also might have enough losses from previous years to mitigate any tax they would pay from gains. Its why US companies exist- even when operating at a loss. That translates to: stable worker income, stable goods market, and companies that grow and get better at profit with time. Very important to be able to take a loss, and move on.
Honestly, they should increase the personal, uh, civilian loss deduction from the current amount. I had some stock losses that total several tens of thousands, and I"m still carry for another 7 years or so. Current limit is 3k in personal losses. That includes: investment losses, fire losses, theft losses, natural disaster losses (with some exceptions).
The startling difference in the amounts of available deductions between corporate and personal is an example of how Congress caters to those that donate. Some Congressmen were trying to increase personal loss deductions, but that was shut down by Democrats.
Also, Amazon makes large donations to various things, and that is also deductible. This pisses off the libs and dems, even though Bezos is a lib himself. But libs are only libs when its other peoples' money.
t. accountant.
paper towels. See pic.
Samuel Morris
Not so poor I have to work at Amazon, thank fuck.
See wnycstudios.org
Jeremiah Cruz
This is pretty much standard operating procedure for any large corporation.
William Ramirez
they're investing in automation to eliminate those jobs u stupid fucking shill
Alexander Wood
how much does bezos pay these amazon shills?
Luke Morris
so what, bitch
Jackson Barnes
>sucking up to Amazon this hard
little did this user know ppl like Bezos are the reason behind the surge of SJW's and the West being turned into a 3rd world shithole due to corporate interest
Christian Morris
There was some user from Chile a couple months ago who described what it was like to work at an Amazon call centre, the cult-like work-environment, the frequent suicides, the rampant drug and alcohol use, the despair, the absolute horror.
They're opening up new centres in Haiti so they can pay their employees as little as possible.
It's a retail monopoly and needs to be broken up. I think it was in New Jersey where they had to actually INCREASE taxes to pay for how much they were giving Amazon to build a warehouse there.
It's a Boomer dystopian nightmare.
Based Hungary
Colton Rogers
This lol. I'm in your country getting paid gibs, fucking your women, living in free housing and there isn't a single thing you can do about it because whitey loves it when the Jews don't pay their taxes
Adam Robinson
some user shared a story how in Spain their workers went on strike, Amazon in turn turned to the police asking them to put an end to it. Spaniard police not being used to US corporate shenanigans were baffled at the request, they'd agreed to maintain a peace keeping presence but not intervene as Bezos' personal thugs lmao this is your brain on sucking corporate cock
Jason Allen
You lying faggots have no shame lol
Asher Powell
Even the left suck corporate cock now. It's quite bizarre. I'm used to the Ayn Rand fanbois holding up the free market as the answer to everything and thinking that endless economic growth will solve all our problems, but when was the last time you heard a leftist talking about globalisation or any environmental issue that wasn't global warming? When was the last time you heard a leftist talking about working conditions?
Caleb Walker
>they pay far more in taxes
...but not Federal income taxes.
Those they pay zero, which is *way* less than the Peasants pay.
Lucas Jenkins
>reinvesting their profits
oh you starry-eyed idealist
Benjamin Myers
If you count every employee, yes. Nobody paid any taxes at all ever. Working for Amazon is a tax free salary.
Noah Cox
>If a tax attorney can save you hundreds of millions...
>you'd shell out millions for the benefit too, wouldn't you?
This is not about me, faggot. This is about a multi-billion-dollar
corporation gaming the system. Try to focus.
Joseph Cook
>Its in the bought and paid-for tax code.
FTFY
Easton Campbell
Taxes are for poor people.
Liam Wright
That is true, but it's more of an indictment of
large corporations than an excuse for Amazon.
Brayden Lewis
That's not true, most people pay 0 federal income tax, many pay -50%
Charles Mitchell
Who allowed Amazon to do that? Amazon themselves?
Camden Lee
so say good-bye to your precious jobs, bitch
Sebastian Garcia
While he is “the wealthiest man” all his wealth is tied up in his company. All it would take is enough people to decide he is a disgusting Jew and quit buying his shit and that company just becomes the world’s largest liability. IOW he can go from the top to the “world’s poorest man” overnight. We should do it to him just to produce a little humility in these libtard billionaires.
Elijah Sanchez
Do *you* pay zero Federal income tax?
I don't, and I don't know anyone who does.
Where do you get your bullshit information?
Thomas Collins
Endless economic growth is the only way to keep pace with endless population growth. IMHO which is why tying the economy to a fixed commodity like gold was only helpful up to a point. The money suppply has to match everything else in a growing country. The problem in all human history is once they realize they can create money out of thin air they never stop but go too far. Every. Fucking. Time.
Matthew Rodriguez
The bottom half pay pretty close to zero. The bottom ten per cent pay negative taxes.
Asher Smith
No, they received a rebate.
They over payed and received money back.
Socialists btfo
Colton Perez
Bullshit.
I'm in the fucking bottom half, and I don't pay *pretty close to zero*, you moron.
Joseph Hughes
U're mum lmao
Levi Cook
Because the people you a referring to as leftists are just social justice obssesed neolibs who have taken over the left wing post Clinton/Blair.
Social Dems like Bernie and Corbyn, and actual commies talk about working conditions all the time.
Eli Green
They also received over 100 million
Jayden Foster
never forget goy
Levi Thomas
I'm a neet so I don't pay income tax, but check it out for yourself, most people with jobs pay no income tax and many pay a negative rate, back when I had a job I got about $10,000 back because of credits that made my federal income tax rate about -25%
Chase Ward
As a covert gov subsidiary, they receive instead of paying...and all the reinvestment story is bs to hide the fact they got new supply of military grade spying hardware to incorporate in their system and track "customers" with improved accuracy
Chase Baker
>most people with jobs pay no income tax
That is just so much bullshit.
Just where do you think Federal revenue comes from?
Noah Anderson
90% of the revenue comes from the 1%. Educate yourself or get screwed
Alexander Wood
>90% of the revenue comes from the 1%
That is a fucking lie, and you are a fucking liar.
Educated or not, a lot of us get screwed, Sherlock.
Connor Walker
Only rich people and people without kids pay federal income tax
Ian Stewart
Have some kids chump
Parker Mitchell
Having kids is *way* more expensive than taxes, chump.
Lincoln Anderson
Good for them. Taxation is theft.
Adam Robinson
Lincoln King
it is very true. If you are making less than 30k a year and still paying federal income tax, you are either an idiot or an ignoramus .
Brody Adams
Not true at all, learn about tax credits, dummy
Nolan Morales
he doesn't even know about that child tax credits as well as the other programs that literally give you money if you have kids and make under 45k... ohhhh boy
Eli Gray
Amazon also gets Subsidy to ship USPS
Nicholas Young
>I'm a neet

But what you pay get’s averaged in to those who pay $2-3 K in “negative taxes. So on average the bottom half pays nothing. What you do is irrelevant (as always).

Found the luddite.
Jeremiah Carter
maybe i can help you.
type into your boomer google machine the following queries.
>what is the welfare cliff
>what is a bank note
>what is a fiat currency
>what is a marginal tax rate
Nolan Hill
>a note o fiat
fucking idiot
Blake Williams
>Endless population growth
Why is it assumed that our population growth will be endless or exponential? It can't continue to be forever and it shouldn't continue to be. The truth is our society and politicians have handed over our ideals and control to global elites on the lie that the economy and money is EVERYTHING and the only thing that matters; our nation has been made slaves the capitalist system that simply used to be our economic tool, not our reason for existing.
John Cook
>what is a fucking idiot
Angel Price
do you not know what a bank note is?
look at the next dollar bill in your wallet, if you have one.
you are financially illiterate. I am trying to help you, others won't be so nice.
Nathaniel Morales
Pic related demonstrates how our current system encourages the poor to procreate and discourages the lower middle class. And we wonder why we are smothered in feral savages. We should all be shot for our own stupidity.
Liam Smith
We don’t have any mechanism to reduce our population at present and we have3 one party of idiots that is hell bent on increasing our numbers of poor illiterates for decades with more than a little help from billionaires in the GOP.
Grayson Myers
"This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private"
aka, it is backed up by legal literature and is promised to have the value of the bill.
it has the signature of the Secretary of the Treasury to make it official.
it is literally a note.
Dominic Miller
We decry our history of savagery in our feudal past but it occurs to me the life of a peasant might not be all that bad. The “Lord” owns the land and you farm it for him. He takes half. As opposed to the “freeman” who works his own land but pays half to “The Lord” which is now called The Mayor or The Governor. What the hell is the difference to the peasant? And how free is the “freeman”? Geography is always the reason ideology is only an excuse.
Austin Stewart
they stopped that after Feinstein and the Clintons got rich off of selling the blue collar working stiffs out to chinese slaves. And, of course, pocketing many millions of dollars for themselves for all that help getting China their favorited status in the WTO. All it took was setting up a corporate-backed caste of SJW priests whose agenda was to spread socjus and white guilt and suddenly wtf liberals love corporations now and Tibet is rightful Chinese clay.
Hunter Scott
>I am trying to help you
You are of no help, so fuck off.
I am in the bottom third of income, and I pay
Federal income tax; but you and your fellow
morons are trying to convince me that I don't.
How does your attempt at deceit benefit you?
Connor James
Jeff it’s late, you have a business to run and a divorce to manage.
Aiden Richardson
How else could you expect them prevent competition and lower the average wages of areas they operate in?
Seriously though big companies are effectively subsidized for the sole purpose of ushering in a more globalized single economy those in positions of power see themselves or their children controlling at the end of the day.
Robert Taylor
you are paying federal taxes because you are not looking enough to ensure that you don't. You don't know where to even begin to do so. I suggest you look into it. Also filing a federal income tax form is not the same as paying the federal income tax, but you likely use something like turbo tax, or have it automatically deducted by your boss through withholding. You can get around this by filing your taxes on your own and making sure you have the expenditures written off as expenses, or having proper deductibles in a vast number categories many of which are easy and capable of being interpreted broadly. I am not being deceitful, I am being truthful. Sometimes the truth hurts and it feels like someone just gave you a black eye. Let it motivate you to not get screwed over anymore. It is your money, you made it, don't let the tax man take more of it than you actually owe.
Josiah Lewis
That's not how tax loss carry forward works. Companies pay at a corporate tax rate, if they don't make any profits they don't pay. Tax carry forward allows them to deduct future taxes based on past year losses. They pay no taxes in the years they lost money, with or without tax carry forward.
I really hope you're not an accountant.
Josiah Baker
I like to drop this tennis ball from the Empire State Building on to the top of that head
Luke Stewart
Also Amazon has been profitable before 2011, and tax carry forward only lasts 7 years. They paid slightly negative taxes because of, according to their AR, certain undisclosed tax credits.
William Davis
>I am not being deceitful
...but you're talking about *expenditures* written off as *expenses*,
and having proper *deductibles*, all of which are tax-avoidance deceptions.
I lead a simple life. I have no *expenditures*, no *expenses*,
and no *deductibles* with which to deceive the IRS.
Camden Rogers
Amazon is a corporation and obtain a massive number of benefits from being treated as such. Incorporation is a privilege invented and supported by the federal and state governments.
Paying $0 in taxes, because they managed to loophole their way out of taxes, while benefiting from all of the benefits of incorporation, is a bastardization of the free market.
Christian Watson
