As this drop occurs, entrepreneurs will have a greater margin to work in for innovative development into industries we may not even have yet. New ventures become more and more incentivized as more labor floods back into the market and these entrepreneurs obtain access to cheaper and cheaper dynamic labor. Another thing you automation retards never contend with. Who pays for these machines? What kind of money do you think these people have that they can buy and maintain these machines? You do realize they are made of scarce goods too, right? The more in demand they become, the lower the total supply of the materials that utilize them. The lower the supply of the materials that utilize them, the greater the cost to purchase and repair/maintain these devices. Technology has a industry standard turn over of only a few years meaning upgrades will be necessary. The only kinds of people who will be able to afford these types of devices will be the already massively wealthy plutocrats that get money from daddy State. If you're worried about automation destroying jobs then the answer isn't to start handing everyone a stack of cash, the answer is to start hanging politicians, plutocrats, and societal parasites.

The only thing that makes things like automated checkout superior to cashiers is the artificial inflation of labor. The price floor/minimum wage on labor means that there is enough wiggle room to justify buying, maintaining, and paying someone to oversee the operations of these automated checkouts. The same can be said of automated trucking. The only reason there is even a push for automated trucking is because of the disgusting regulations placed on the industry right now. With things like DEF and EGR (both mandated by environmental regulations) systems destroying the longevity of trucks causing small business truckers to have tremendous expenditure on their maintenance, to DOT (dept of transportation) mandated electronic (and expensive) logs with maximum drive hours per day, to the obscene levels of fines and other bullshit in the market, it is absolutely no wonder why people are seeing more tech innovation in the field of trucking. I don't know how it is in Germany regarding the trucking industry but without a doubt the only reason we see a push for automation in trucking is because of these parasitic bastards buying more and more regulatory power from the State to centralize their control over the markets. Think of how it will affect the insurance industry. Millions of bodies no longer need insurance to drive, or workers comp, or the lawyers working on workers comp cases. Most work safety laws disappear allowing for higher company profits. Fully automated trains alone will put huge workforces out of business.

The government makes it more and more difficult for small businesses to survive because it is impossible to keep up with all the regulations and laws that are imposed when you have 20 employees total. Just payroll, taxes, and licenses alone makes running your own business a nightmare.
