It also uses a law Trump implemented where it gets a tax advantage if it invests its profits into equipment (and thereby creating jobs) rather than directly paying it out to their shareholders. In other words, the company is simply using the means offered to it to keep costs low and profits high.

The people who whine about Amazon not paying taxes underestimate this. Amazon investing in R&D is worth a lot more than Amazon paying that sum of money directly to the government. That's why this legislation exists in the first place: precisely to force the private sector to innovate in ways the public sector cannot.
