It's not just these two things I can conclude with; we're not dealing with checkered floors here. The occult symbolism in Eva is not just decorations, it's an element iself. For instance, Eva Unit-01 is "Lucifer". Lilith as a demonic entity is in NGE a "seed of life" and the progenitor of humans and was shown crucified like Christ was.
