Have you guys ever wondered why pictures of Nazi rallies or buildings are so visually impressive? Why they put so much effort into artistry and form? Why their sculptures and paintings rejected realistic depictions of humans, and instead presented them in almost god-like fashion? Why their rallies and mass gatherings always seem so meticulously organized? It wasn’t just Hitler’s past as a wannabe art student, though that certainly didn’t hurt. It’s actually the exact same, albeit inverse, reason that communist buildings were brutal concrete slabs, without decoration or adornment, and their art an avant-garde mess of miserable, incoherent shapes. It has to do with how these two ideologies viewed art and its relation to politics. I’m going to try to explain it to you, in the hopes that you can better understand and put to good use what I consider to be the right’s single greatest weapon in the fight against its enemies: beauty.

Now, the relationship between art and politics is an old question in philosophy. Obviously, two relations are possible: art can rule over politics, or politics can rule over art. These two conceptions reached their final evolution with the advent of fascism, which relates to the former, and communism, which relates to the latter. It is not often I quote Frankfurt School neophytes, but Walter Benjamin’s example is helpful here. He noted that with arrival of photography and other forms of mechanical reproduction of art, paintings had suddenly lost much of their artistic value. What makes the Mona Lisa special if it can be copied thousands of times and hung on walls all over the world? The work of art, whose purpose was to create an emotional experience for the viewer, was commoditized and turned into empty decoration. What then takes the place of art’s original role now that it is being consumed by the masses, rather than just the very wealthy? Benjamin argues film, with its capacity to enthrall an entire audience at once and grant them an experience they couldn’t have normally fits the bill. Mass produced entertainment for the masses. But if the purpose of art is to grant the viewer an emotional experience, what is the reductio ad absurdum of mass art? What do humans do that brings the most visceral emotions, the most terrifyingly sublime experiences, to the greatest number of people? War. Here Benjamin refers to an Italian fascist and futurist, Filippo Marinetti, who describes war as the ultimate form of aesthetic beauty. He writes:

War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.”
Only the violence of combat offers the grim beauty to satisfy art; only violence can come to the fore when politics is ruled by art. Now, being a Marxist, Benjamin believes that the newly awakened masses have a right to attempt to eliminate the private property structure that they live under in Marx’s dreamt of revolution of the proletariat. But the revolution never came. War gives the fascist a way to organize and mobilize the masses on a societal scale without destroying the system of private property. Moreover, when art has been forced into the context of a mass culture and thus has faced the problems relating to politics, the fascist can avoid subjugation to the aesthetic demands of the masses only by subjecting the masses to the demands of aesthetics. The fascist then creates an aesthetic ideal and proceeds to subject the masses to its standards. If our politics are to be beautiful, our people must be beautiful. This then tells us why the Nazis worshipped an idealized human form. Look at their sculptures, and their adoration of fitness and physical perfection. And if they can’t be perfectly beautiful in form, they can create beauty in the act of destroying that which is ugly. War gives the masses a means of expression without turning us into a homogenous, featureless, nationless society.
The other side of the coin is communism, which subjects art to the demands of politics. In doing so, the work of art is lost, its aura ripped away and its autonomy gone, as it becomes a mere tool in the hands of the proletariat, subject of the masses. And with that subjugation, the authentic ability to appreciate the work of art, to appreciate beauty, is lost. Since it is not possible to make everything beautiful, simply change the meaning of the word beauty. Our people must not aspire to beauty, beauty must be found in the masses. In essence, lower your standards. This then tells us why the Marxist left pushes for things such as fat acceptance and against the idealized female form presented in art. Beauty is exclusionary by nature. And to exclude is to create an “other”, which is anathema to the goals of Marxism. To call one beautiful is to imply another is ugly, or at the very least plain. But to say everything is beautiful is to say nothing is. And so beauty becomes subjugated by the demands of politics, and the marxist dream of a unified, stateless, classless, world.
But what is the point of this philosophy lesson? Simply put, I wish to arm you with a powerful tool in our fight against the left. You must learn to use beauty as a weapon. Everyone, deep down, desires to be beautiful, or at least to experience and be beholden to beauty. It is human nature to appreciate beauty. Beautiful things are adored, coveted, protected, and worshipped. Our enemies know this, and as such do everything in their power to destroy our conception of beauty, or to deny it even exists. What you must understand and learn to weaponize is that the right *owns* beauty, perfection, artistry, and aspiration. For all the caterwauling on the left about “acceptance”, their film stars are beautiful without exception. Though they might claim they want to abolish the notion of the idealized form, no matter how hard they try, they cannot. Because, once again, it is human nature to appreciate beauty. And beauty belongs to us.

In a sense, the Godlike and inspiring depictions of human beings is still here, but mercified and popularized into "artistic photography", and overly modified photomanipulation. Which then conflated into graphics and advertising.
There is still a longing for the ideal, but it's purposefully kept away from the mainstream, "official" art circles that determine what actually influences architecture and urbanization (the things before everyone's eyes, not limited to specific circles dedicated to the craft itself).

Aesthetic Theory by Theodor Adorno would be your best bet. He is a marxist though. But it was he and his peers at the Frankfurt school that identified the relationship between aesthetics and the mass political movements of the 20th century.
