Many people are well aware that the conflict between India and Pakistan is going to end up in a possible Nuclear Missile exchange that will have Global consequences. The current political and military atmosphere in India and Pakistan is very delicate, both Nuclear Nations could attack one another at a moments notice, and any future attacks against either country could result in an attack on either side, meaning that If India attacks Pakistan, Pakistan will attack India and vice versa.

If the war goes hot, and nukes don't fly. I would be very surprised. We aren't dealing with an ISIS or a Vietcong type situation. We would be dealing with two somewhat major superpowers with Nuclear weapons. To answer your question on the off chance that the War goes hot and no nuclear weapons are involved between the two nations, I would suspect that the United States would step in at the forefront and tell both sides to calm down...or, The United States would move a majority of its assets into the Arabian sea or the gulf of Oman and conduct landing or amphibious operations against Pakistan, as well as conducting sorties and tomahawk strikes against military infrastructure within Pakistan. Assuming that this happens without Nuclear Weapons, Alliances will be drawn and the result will be a World War 3 without Nuclear weapons. India would be on the Western axis nations I.E ( France, Germany, Israel etc..) and Pakistans allies would be Russia and China.

But whenever I get to topics about nukes there is a lot of back peddling. At first nuclear materials do long term damage such as Chernobyl or that spill in Fukushima and at other times its all good. Just air out the city for a year or 2. And the only sources being scientific journals which contradict themselves twice an hour.
And the point about all the nuke capable countries being in on it. What is more likely, a country finally develops nukes (Pakistan, North Korea) and uses it on its enemies.
