It would probably turn out about the same. England would have eventually rebelled for some other reason and the eternal Austrian/Venetian merchant would have emptied the war coffers. What would have been more interesting is if Philip II had been more proactive against the propaganda war and killed traitors within his own inner circle. Many Latinos favor their "native" side and play identity politics over embracing all the good it did to get conquered and baptized by Spaniards. Whatever shitty things the Conquistadors did pales in comparison to the madness that was committed by Mexica priests in the hopes of good harvest, everything from child prostitution to cannibalism. If anything, Cortes, deserves credit for being rather magnanimous and not murdering every single native that partook in savagery.
