doing some house maintenance this weekend, so I pop into bunnings to pick up some screws and a few other things
I start looking for some specific sized screws. m5 too big. m3 too small. m4 should be the right size.
then I need to look through the imperial sized screws. wtf is this shit. 3/16, 5/32, 1/8. I need to fucking crunch the numbers in my head to figure out if 5/32 > 1/8 (4/32).
>you'll never get odd/odd because it simplifies Simplify 3/5 for me.
Cameron Powell
Metric is actually a broken system, and leads to flawed mathematical outcomes. It's why a gigabyte is 1024 megabytes , a computer wouldn't work if a they didn't use an oddball number
Cameron Morris
We are the burgers now > posts somali captain pic
Cameron Ward
It's a defense mechanism to prevent blegs from working construction.
Wyatt Butler
The best part is that I need 2 fucking sets of sockets. One for imperial and one for metric.
Landon Gonzalez
Ive never seen a pipe bolt or screw that was that size and dont see them online
Caleb Campbell
perhaps in math and computer science but not in construction and general usage. Same way Farenheit system is stupid compare to Celsius
Jaxon Brown
Thirteenth is not a measurement. 4 eights is 1/2. No wonder you had a hard time you are retarded.
Hudson Reed
In Imperial, your DENOMINATOR will ALWAYS BE EVEN.
Joshua Brooks
Shut up leaf! Imperial only uses even divisors. Oh, and you are a faggot!
Oliver Bell
that's not true at all. the number 1024 comes from the fact that computers are discrete/digital machines -- with simply two states: 1 and 0.
Now if you have 10 bits of two states (i.e. 2^10), you can represent 1024 different combinations (0 - 1023).
Justin Wood
Like I said, he’s probably an Abbo!
Nicholas Taylor
.6 - much simpler.
Hunter Jackson
They do the same with their coins. They have a coin called 1/4 for some reason
Jacob Nguyen
yeah it's fucked up beyond belief.
Jose Ortiz
Dude, don't be a retard. It's that fucking simple. Like. Learn to reduce. It's a piece of cake. Like 1/8th of a cake. A little over 3/32 of a cake.
Owen Nelson
How do you not go insane being so bad at math?
Ayden Martin
>perhaps in math
So the thing that construction workers and meteorologists use?
Evan Watson
We take fractions in middle school here dumbass
Angel Foster
That sounds like a flawed mathematical outcome , even when it's divisible by 2 Thanks for proving my point
Blake Torres
Niggers
Parker Diaz
Fuck you dude
Brandon Thompson
>fractions are hard The only thing that makes it difficult are Euro babbies that can't handle numbers other than 1 and 0 and their bastard criminal throw aways who act as though we are the ones who tried to make it more difficult.
It's a fraction of an inch. It sucks, but just use a calculator. The inch system is pretty nice for engineering. Having a tolerance be ±0.003 inch is nicer than having it be ±0.075 millimeter. Millimeters are too small.
Caleb Hill
You can have a fraction that is a repeating decimal integer, retard.
Gabriel Allen
Seven millimeters is .284 inches. I know cause of my gun
Angel Sullivan
Skyhook, checkered paint, can of compressed air(note pc cleaner is not compressed air it uses a refrigerant not a compressor), can’t remember any others atm
Colton Foster
Now if you have 4 on/off switches, how many different combinations of on and off can you have?
Jacob Murphy
>abbo can't into math kek
Asher Roberts
rekt
Austin Cruz
uh yeah 13ths is a measurement. so is 4/104812ths
Benjamin Gray
Celsius is good for broad spectrum but Fahrenheit better for every day. A hot day is more than twenty degrees hotter than an ice cube.
Elijah Wright
ah yes the infamous board stretcher
Chase Bennett
I agree. It's fucking retarded. I wish we'd just go to metric.
Easton Sanchez
There are two kinds of Countries.
Those who use the Metric system, and those who go to the moon.
Your tiny Eurofag brain can't comprehend moon landing units.
We Americans pride ourselves on being special, different, complicated, confusing and better than everyone else.
Asher Anderson
>how the fuck do you yanks not go insane How do you know they haven't.
Aiden Reyes
You're both being stupid, it has to do with the word size. 8 bits was the agreed one to standardize. If word size had been defined as something other than 8 bits, it would be a different power of 2. There were plenty of computers using other word sizes before home pcs.
Gavin Gonzalez
I think you argued my point? Learn better engrish. Oh I'm sorry I only went to school for engineering. I should have just used Google. Silly me
Liam Baker
because math isn't hard? "what are fractions?" -- retard
Jaxon Williams
But you can make it as precise as you wish by handling smaller units. I get that a straight fraction in the imperial system is in theory more precise, after all a 1/3 of a meter is never a perfect 3rd since it is undefined and only gets as precise as you are willing to go down on units. But surely no actual man made structure or tool is perfect and so at the end of the day isn't it more realistic to say something is 0.031250003 than 1/32?
Daniel Sanders
Are you saying that Liberia and Myanmar also landed on the moon?
Jose Rivera
Thanks Chang. But you should know that Americans give zero fucks about what others think of us or what we do. We don't need permission from Eurocucks and their self-hating progeny.
