Why would he set such a fucking retarded amount? No judge is going to rule favorably on that. Why not set something realistic like $5 million, or even better $1, one fucking dollar out of principle to expose that rag as lying fucks.

catholics are jew in nature.

You don't understand the culture. That's not how things are done.

Because the lawyer knows they will settle to reduce the price. For example, If he said 10m it will be reduced to 1m. 100m to 10m. But i guess they will reduce it to 250k..

Also remember that hulk hogan had a similar case and won 200 million settlement from a news outlet, just like the WP.

Go get them!

You're supposed to haggle

Defamtion lawsuits have a 13% success rate. Lawsuits are set at such a high number knowing that won't go through. They are just to grab attention, they always settle for a fraction of that almost always privately.

punitive to evildoing media kikes, plus it always gets reduced to something much more reasonable. sets a precedent too.

Boy, the things I would do for 250k, to be honest.

I see.

The point of awarding that amount is to at least hurt the perpetrator, which isn't really possible in this case, so it is being made to set an example. He most likely won't get that and will settle out of court for a lesser amount, which will still make him rich af. Which is the second point of suing for this amount. Ie: sue for 250m, settle out of court for 50m.

Yes, they will settle for something between 250k and 1M. That's good money.

doesnt that mean the success rate is alot higher than 13%?

Success means ruled in his favour.

Settling means no ruling

There's a reason why dude is a lawyer. This is the USA, anyway. Lawsuits are a crazy, but very real part of our culture. All day, every day. Hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars in active lawsuits. Everybody gets sued here. Even I've been sued and I don't have shit.

mate this is america, do I have to tell you the story of how once an elderly lady got a McDonalds coffee that was much too hot?

Gawker and the Washington Post are nothing alike.

what did you expect he's basically getting Trumps reserve legal team :^)

Why set the bar low when you know there's going to be a settlement?

They will be soon

>I hope he wins
They'll most likely settle, but I really hope he won't and he'll go all in.

Because Bezos will settle so the number doesn't matter?

WaPo and all media outlets are guilty of judge-first mentality, the lawsuit is meant to scare the media

Please tell me Chief Shitting Bull is getting sued too.

It's to get even with Amazon for not paying tax.

Love the reference

Most definitely

It's a tactic. Besides, the lawyer gets 40%.

Because they will settle. And if he goes for 5 it won't be much.

Not true. One of the rewards sought is WaPo paying all plaintiff court and lawyer fees

I hope that savage has to hand over the keys to his casino
