I have friends that travel, they have to take a lot of time off from work. I do not travel, at least not like them, I am the only one with a house. I was able to put down a large down payment because I don't spend so much on traveling.

These people do 3 to 4 trips a year, each being at least a week long, sometimes 2 to 3 weeks off. That is a lot of time off from work. All their PTO gets used and their savings get drained.

I would rather own a home, a paid off car, and a lot of PTO then go on a few vacations a year.
