I work in Berkeley and this in a sense doesn’t surprise me. The folks at my work brought up the idea that if Trans folks can’t serve in the military they shouldn’t have to pay taxes. When I reciprocated and said I never knew the military to be an equal opportunity employer and the fact that a trans man cannot go 2 week without their hormone replace treatment (HRT) or they go into rage due to the spike in testosterone, I was avoided for month.
The cherry on top was I was reprimanded by my boss for saying Merry Christmas.
That city is completely backwards and for how beautiful it is I need to leave that place.

This happened in my home town. All the professors that protested the table are all sociology teachers. Big surprise.
