If we hit the oh shit point of carbon dioxide levels we can just invest in infrastructure which siphons it out of the air and turns it back into hydrocarbons using solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear power. It's not cost effective right now but the technology is being developed across the world and there's a Canadian startup using it that has pilot plants set up. If we really were fucked we'd be able to survive and come out relatively intact. I was mostly thinking that ocean acidification would kill off a lot of plankton and other lifeforms in the seas, I think Earth can handle global warming/cooling/climate change better than people scream about. If water evaporates from the ocean the carbon dioxide concentration either increases or just floats around for a bit before being reabsorbed by the ocean somewhere else. The molecules don't just disappear and we don't have enough rainforests/plants to sequester all of it at the rate we're introducing it. I think the point against CO2 emissions is that, since there's other countries that are China-tier polluting (even though everyone is now trying to cut back relative to themselves), it's going to take a lot of work to avert certain climate/chemical effects from happening. The reason people are worried about climate is because of feedback, but like I said the Earth tends to fluctuate greater ranges on its own anyways and I think the more imminent threat is chemical rather than temperature related.
