Although the average socialist is probably no more attractive (or perhaps even less so) than the average right-winger, very attractive men do often seem to be drawn to revolutionary ideas. For some reason you notice this especially with Latinos. The strapping Hispanic revolutionary is almost a cliche and I think it has something to do with cultural inheritance.

More traditionally right-wing countries like Germany have a history of warring with others, which develops the "us and them" mindset. However, South American countries have a general history of fighting internally, through revolutions and counter-revolutions.
