One of the worst characters on GOT. I never read the books and I’m told that her character arc is significantly different, but I hate how the show builds her up as “[current year], the female protagonist”.

She fucks up everything she does. Everything she tries to fix ends up backfiring. Instead of having some hubris about her mistakes she doubles and triples down trying to push her womyn’s power agenda. Yes yes, I’m aware that her father was the Mad King and she’s basically just following in his footsteps by never admitting that she’s wrong, but I hate how the show’s narrative is clearly framed to build up everything she does as le epic when she’s fucking everything up. Her arrogance will ultimately kill her, she’ll bite off more than she can chew but she won’t have dragons to hide behind in the end. Everything was handed to her because she (stupidly) used her dragons to strong arm her way into power, but a couple of dragons will ultimately be not enough to conquer the world.

Hmm. Yeah, I was more engaged in the Ramsay Bolton arc because, after I realised that the television series was going down the drain after diverging from the books, I thought that I might as well just get some good soft porn out of it.

The beginning was very nice. She had the potential to be a good character. It just fell sort of flat though, I agree.

In the books she's a fuck up and everything she touches goes to shit. The books from the get go have been about Jon and not her, the show actually focuses on her way more than it should. The show also purposely avoids talking to much about how her families line of succession works because the "big twist" of Jon's lineage actually invalidates everything she's done the whole series because he's the heir not her.

The entire series is a straightforward savior story where Jon's the red herring as well. He's a pretty straight forward cinderella character, the main character development is in Jamie because he's the one that will fulfill the prophecy.

A pretty big point of the story is how Jon Snow is the best leader based on merit and all the people who got their positions solely based on birth right are generally fuck ups

It's basically a soft redpill, while Dany is in Mereen bitching about not being respected, fucking the mercenary who makes her cunt tingle, and plotting to get her throne back Jon is freezing his balls off protecting the world from certain doom

I agree, I think the show will end with Jon prevailing, I just hate the blatant pandering with Dany. Almost every arc ends with her addressing the fact that she has to eat crow for making yet another stupid decision and she either gets away with it by flashing her dragons or by some supporting character reaffirming that she’s a strong independent womyn who don’t need no man, and then suddenly by the next episode everyone has forgotten that she’s ruined entire civilizations for everyone involved all in the name of progressivism.
