Coming from New Jersey as a right of center conservative, Texas is basically my idea of a dream state. I've never tried to find work before moving to a new location before, but I imagine it's going to be tough not knowing anyone.

Small farm towns are the patches of peace in Texas. You can commute to the big city on your days off, but you wouldn't want to live in them dead center. It's like any other American city.

Florida ain't a conservative state, it was an older state but the age line has dropped significantly, and we have a large hispanic population. Hence it has turned more blue. Also, Florida probably has it the worst as far as global warming concerns go, hence more bluing. I moved here 13 years ago and I would not be surprised if by 2030 Florida is considered a blue state.
