Because nothing Cohen is accusing Trump of doing is illegal. Most of it is not improper, though the Democrats are trying to paint it that way.
Falsely accusing someone under oath of a crime (ie, Trump inducing Cohen to lie/make false statements) is of course perjury, but then would expose Cohen to libel, defamation of character or slander lawsuits as well. Cohen could also be exposed to Obstruction of Justice charges, too. He doesn't need to be bankrupted or additional time in prison.
If you listen to his answers and explanations, you'll note that there is no proof, evidence, etc. of legal or ethical wrongdoing. It's simply worded as conjecture (hearsay) as to Trump's motives etc.
Basically – Cohen is saying the minimum amount he needs (whilst not exposing himself legally) to to paint Trump in a bad light at the direction of Lanny Davis (a DNC/Hillary lawyer). The House and others then take that information from there and extrapolate on it and frame it in a "criminal" light in the form of "questions." The MSM then amplify it out to the masses.
This is all a kabuki theatre and part of the gear-up for the Mueller report drop (which the Dems/RINOs are freaking out about, as Barr has already said he's going to hold/review it) and the push inevitable push towards impeachment.
Too bad there's no proof of it, amirite? The only people that care about this kike's testimony are the Democrats that put him before Congress in the first place. He's not there to speak truth, he's there to be weaponized because he's got nothing to lose.
