How the fuck is this possible?

Bump. That seems so interesting to discuss. Is socialism bad for the economy or is there a vaccine when it is a 100% white country?

It is always easier to have a large percentage increase with a lower base. East Germany's GDP went from 2,000 to 12,500, an increase of 10,500. West Germany went from 5,200 to 22,600, an increase of 17,400. In both beginning income, ending income, and income increase, West Germany wins. You fell victim to someone lying with stats.

Because communism worked in east germany

>When your GDP per capita rises because people are dying or leaving at a faster rate than your GDP is falling

>east Germany was poorer under communism
>east Germany is still poorer under capitalism
>but we started off even worse (because if communism) so our relatively higher growth is proof communism is better!

East Germany was pulverized harder by the Soviets than West Germany. The soviets actually deployed a Carthaginian policy before reversing course in the 1950s. The Allied offensives actually had more fighting in France, Belgium and The Netherlands than it did in Germany proper. Hell, Italy got torn up more than Germany. You get huge numbers when it comes to growth when you're so far behind to begin with.

Can you not read your own source?

>these bars are bigger so i can ignore the numbers

Youve been jewed

you are a moron. showing higher growth doesn't imply richer it implies better opportunity.

>goes from 2.0 to 12.5
>goes from 5.2 to 22.6
They should be rising higher because they started lower

t. failed basic math

Incredibly misleading

Death and nowhere to go but up

Western economy was much stronger from the beginning

East had to be rebuilt from ground up with many gibs from west

I don't think he ever made that point. And you missed his entirely as it was a correct explaination.

Because East Germany started off poorer.

There are three types of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.

that map is so incredibly wrong its not even funny

Socialism only works on societies already autistic for work, in China for example it kinda worked because of the already settled slave mentality and in G*rmany because they love vork and have the extra added energy boost to destroy western civilization

No, he made a stupid point about "wins," that's not how economics is measured, in 'wins or loses,' OPs question was valid, and his explanation doesn't actually give OP a theoretical understanding of what happened.

The answer is that in underdeveloped areas the opportunity to grow is larger, and Investments are thusly more lucrative. If you want to talk about the economics of Germany West and East in detail you need more than the 4 statistics this fucker posted.

Because logarithms.

thats literally what he said dumbass. the smaller the base number is the higher the percentage of the increase is aka the more underdeveloped you are the larger the grow potential

Source: ... UNI (((BREMEN)))

Bremen is the far left shithole of Germany, even worse than Berlin.

Keep up the good work, son, and maybe one day you'll be DRIVING that short bus instead of being a passenger.

Wow, you are a special kind of stupid. By "wins", what I meant was that I would have preferred to live in West Germany at the beginning of the period, at the end of the period, and at all points in between. You ranting and raving lunacy about opportunities is just idiotic. At all times, it would have been better to live in West Germany. Only a VERY low IQ person could not understand this. I'm laughing at your assertion that "opportunities" are greater in the poorer countries. If the opportunities were so much greater, retard, why was the total growth only 10,500 instead of
West Germany's 17,400. When using percentages, it is always easier to have a larger percentage increase when the starting point is lower. I am really enjoying this, crushing a low IQer who hasn't even mastered grammar school math yet.
