I talked to them at a career fair and they liked me, so they took me in for an interview. They gave me the internship under the expectation that I would work for them after graduation (working on my MS). I was a NEET for a total of 5 years too, so this is a big deal for me, since finding employment when you have huge gaps on your resume is not easy.

It used to be that my resume was awful, but I think it helped a lot to rewrite it in LaTeX, which has much better formatting than word. I threw a lot of class projects I did as an undergrad on there and wasn't shy about putting my hobbies on there too. For example, I screwed with Unity and Blender when I was unemployed after my undergrad and just put it on there to see if it would make me look better. I think I did really well when answering their questions too by coming off as somebody who had a plan for their life.

It's a good pay for an internship.
