None of you communist niggers ever put forth ways to increase the supply of housing. You aren't willing to even allow new housing to be put in unless builders jump through hoops to maybe be even granted the privilege of building an apartment in an area.
On top of that, NIMBYS always tell you to fuck off when someone tries to plop down an apartment next to their neighborhood. Now with Rent Control NIMBYS can deal with the people living in cars, vans, trucks on their street and shitting on their lawn rather than letting them live in an apartment.
Rural Oregon is going to be fine. Plenty of space for trailers and starter homes. It's your urban areas which are going to feel the pain of this policy. Hope you step on some needles on the way to your wage slave job.

This is one of the bigger factors of why housing is so expensive in some blue states, with nimbys blocking all housing developments and then same people complaining about the rising prices in their neighbourhoods

Property owners are jewing the shit out of folks but at the same time the housing market itself is artificially too tight because you can't build anything in the neighborhoods or city centers without gorillion pages of paperwork, 15 years of environmental review, 10 years of community adjustment and 5 years waiting for one complaint and having to do everything over again.
Rent control "works" but it doesn't stop owners from raising prices, it just means they need to hop trough more hoops and makes it more expensive to live in the non rent controlled apartments in turn. It's best used sparsely and mixed in with market priced apartments.

stabilizing rent isn't going all the way to communism. if it were communism, they'd completely take away the right of the land owner to charge anything close to market value, and would unilaterally impose basic rent despite location, ameneties, etc.

wrong. the vacancy rate in most major cities is staggeringly high. there are literally 100's of thousands of empty apartments per city, because no one can afford the asking price for the rent. you can say "mostly full", but they're not maxed, and therefore that is a loss. but what do i expect a memeflag faggot like you to understand basic shit.
