The longer I live, the more of the US we see on summer road trips, the more I oppose national high speed rail. The environmental devastation that rail causes is clear and visible as scars across the land. Bullet trains in across the country mean we will never have buffalo or other large herds again in Norf America.

On paper it sounds great, the problem is it will never be built. It's a traditional method of bilking tax payers by the Democrats. They have no intention of finishing it. So many contracts and services for such a long construction project. Every single one will be over budget and unfinished.

if you rely on public transportation to get to work you have to live in close proximity to a train station. a community that relies on cars will always be less dense than one where public transportation is common.
