Sportsmen are often going to be drawn from the lower socioeconomic class because people from the higher ones get educations and go into desk based careers. That doesn't mean there aren't genetic differences though. Shouldn't communist China and India and other ghetto tier countries be producing super athletes then? Why aren't they? An argument could be made that groups of people that aren't fucked over socioeconomically are able to pursue things of value, while folks that are fucked over have no other options. So maybe, the reason why these groups of people are so noticeably successful in atheletics is that they have no other avenues to succeed in.
It is genetic however we as humans have platued and haven’t gotten better. We’ve only introduced new equipment, steriods, and specialized body types to bump our records just slightly more.

Heavy correlation equals causation. Majority of athletes come from low income roots. I’d say most poor people reason it’s easier to use their bodies and make money rather than their brains. Same reason most low income communitties contribute to the oil fields, military, and other physically taxing jobs more than high income communities
The races may be overrepresented in ghettos but not the individual athletes. They’ve done socioeconomic analytics on the origins of professional athletes, middle class blacks dominate the nba and nfl.
The athletes that reach the elite level have s combination of talent and opportunity. The opportunity to play football/basketball in their youth requires money and typically a male presence in their lives. More black athletes had their biological father in their lives than the general black pop. Military families are also over represented.
Ghetto babies can and do make it to the elite level but most are likely filtered out during their childhood through crime/violence/missed opportunity. You can’t play college ball if you drop out of high school.
I’m speaking as a former college athlete. Blacks are chosen at a higher rate because they mature faster. You have 14 y/o blacks who are fully mature and play high level sports all through their high school career. They are recruiting over whites who play at the same level but only for their junior or senior season.
Half the white pro-bowlers in the nfl we’re walk inside in college. There is a real anti white bias in college recruiting.
