It's not possible to comment on Jow Forums threads using the new Dissenter web browser extension from Gab. The entire service has been comprised! If you create a new thread and try to comment using the Dissenter plugin, it gives an error. Wake up SHeepleS!
If you don't see how powerful this new concept is and why we need to defend it, get fucked faggot.
Elijah Price
it's not a new concept. genius (formerly rapgenius) tried to do this exact same thing and raised money at a billion dollar valuation to do it. they said it was there plan to create "an internet Talmud"
It's just a bug. If you report it they'll fix it for you.
William Gutierrez
I'm sure it's just a (((bug))).
Ryder Lopez
Lol you sound like a middle aged white woman bitching at a target employee, slay queen!
Cameron Murphy
Well, I've been saving my coupons for months. I'd like to speak to the manager, RIGHT NOW!
Levi Richardson
It literally is
Joshua Clark
Already been banned anyways from this shithole, didn't take long as usual. 2 posts, and they are already requesting for a phone number. Fucking police state. 1984 is real my friends.
Andrew Ramirez
Oh I'm sure it's just a (((coincidence))) and a bug. Nothing to see here...
Dominic Bennett
Only happens on pages that have no comments. It probably assumes it has an object for a url but an object only gets created if somebody has commented so it is pulling up a null object from its search and giving this error.
Nathaniel Hernandez
It's called a bug, the thing was just released.
Michael Sanders
Try submitting the link of this thread and see for yourself. Try creating a new thread and see for yourself. I am not making this up.
Juan Turner
it's not a bug, people commented before on threads about Dissenter. I've seen it for myself. It's not possible anymore.
Joseph Martin
If we can't ever comment on any threads created here, we'll know that something is not right. It's not a bug, you fucking retards.
Joshua Hernandez
I'm not saying it isn't happening. I'm saying the bug only appears on urls that do not already have comments.
Matthew Morris
You are wrong. I've tried submitting this thread and creating comments, and I get this error. Try it for yourself you fucking lemming.
Jose Lewis
Bruh it's like 4 days old. Give it a chance first
Daniel Bennett
Try creating ANY new thread on Jow Forums and creating comment and you won't be able to.
Bentley Ramirez
IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kevin Campbell
Just fucking try it for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Owen Miller
And why would I get banned from Twitter asking about this subject?!?!? I did not post anything offensive. They are actively trying to suppress this new addon. They are scared. They won't be able to control the narrative.
Oliver Wilson
This thing is fucking huge. Game changer, if it catches on, and it is already, it's their worst nightmare.
Joshua Sanders
Am I an oldfag now or something? Wtf is dissenter?
Isaac Powell
Go to the front page and try making a comment. They changed the code so that it tries to pull from the database an object representing a url but on urls that were not commented on before the change no object exists so it errors out. It incorrectly assumes every url will have an object in the database but those objects are only created after somebody makes the first comment.
That is correct and a major flaw in the system. That is my whole fucking point. Finally someone gets it. If it's that easy to bypass, the whole fucking concept is pointless. Do you understand?!?!?
Brody Russell
Someone tell Andrew Tora about it ffs. So that they can fix it. Jesus christ you people are fucking retards.
Aaron Torres
It is just a stupid error the kind programmers make all the time. They probably didn't test the new code on uncommented urls.
Blake Hill
Why the fuck are they trying to pull anything from the website itself? Just use the fucking URL. We don't need anything else. If they change the URL, people will and comments will just migrate to it.
Ethan Watson
You are so naive, it hurts.
Eli Cook
The comments are hosted on their server.
Jeremiah Martinez
Seems to be happening on other websites as well Disregard the website, I no longer watch ice but it was the first site I found to also have this issue.
The whole concept is based in unique URLs or GUIDs. This is what makes this concept work.
Xavier Evans
I am giving my professional opinion as a programmer.
Wyatt Anderson
>The whole concept is based in unique URLs or GUIDs. This is what makes this concept work.
The whole concept is based in unique URLs or GUIDs. This is what makes this concept work.
Who cares? Of course the comments need to be stored somewhere, but they are also all linked to a unique URL.
David Baker
Also the extension seems to work on the main page of the boards but stops working whenever you enter a thread. I'm don't think it's intentional.
Ryan Lopez
No offense, but... I won't even comment on that. That's junior programmer shit right there.
Bentley Martin
What exactly do you think is happening?
Luke Ross
it's looking for an id in something that is returning null, so, idk how dissenter works but if each site is saved as an object with a url and an id, it just means the given site isn't saved
Connor Cruz
It's OSS user, be a hero and fix it.
John Walker
And this is nonsense. Because if what you were saying was true, no one would have been able to comment on any pages from the beginning. Because initially, there was no comments on any pages.
Connor Collins
The site is blacklisted.
Joseph Reyes
random question but does it have any way to remove stuff like empty flags from URLs to keep there from being multiple threads for a single page of a site? or anything like that? or is it just each URL gets a comment section?
Jackson Johnson
The browser extension is open source, not their software on the server which is where the problem is.
Robert Jackson
How do you explain the fact that some people wrote comments on pages with no comments? There's plenty of pages with comments now.
Cameron Ramirez
That is what I have been saying.
Kayden Foster
They changed the code so that it mistakenly assumes there are objects for every url rather than only urls that have comments.
Samuel Moore
Every url gets a comment section, even made up urls.
It seems to be any page without existing comments. >Pick any YT vid >Go to random time stamp >Copy/paste timestamp URL >Watch addon/extension fail
Oliver Perez
Listen, it's not rocket science. All you need, is a server, a database that collects comments related to specific URls. URLs are unique IDs. This system will need to evolve eventually, because they will end up obfuscating URLs, but now, as it stand, it's a very simple system. 1 URL = 1 link to a database for comments.
Jordan Murphy
Yeah, no shit, but you are not understanding what I am saying.
Jacob Peterson
Something else is going on, clearly something fucky is happening. It's so fucking simple to not fuck and not fail that if it fails, it means that someone wants it to fail.
Eli Peterson
It's just a error you paranoid twats. Reload the page. Fuck you shill.
Joseph Barnes
o kk, cool extension that I wish someone made a long time ago but it's gonna get astroturfed so fast. Wait a week for "journalists" finding "pedophiles" using it to share links and stuff
Nathaniel Morgan
There's no excuse as to why this current system is failing, except possible collusion and blacklisting sites.
Ian Walker
>they will end up obfuscating URLs dissenter or the sites that want to make it harder to use it for comments? if the latter, probably less of a concern because messy URLs hurt search ranking
Chase Clark
Reload the page? Do you see any Dissenter comments on this page? Who's the shill?
Benjamin Sullivan
Post a screen of the meta comment, using Dissenter on this page. You can't, because it's blocked. KYS please.
Connor Rodriguez
you know it's entirely possible there's just been a goof with how the data is stored right? give it a chance lmao
Matthew Morales
Doesn't matter. That's the beauty of it and why they are so angry about it. They will do anything theyc an to shut it down. This is revolutionary and game changing content. It's big like the P2P revolution. This shit is the P2P of free speech.
Michael Adams
I got the same error on the gillette commercial. Wait and try again you twit. You want lighting fast services without payment, some things require money and time.
And yes i get a error on dissenter on this page. But not on the ones i used to get 30 mins ago.
Justin Allen
Nope. not Buying it for a second. Comments were working 2 days ago on any threads. And this is why I am bringing awareness. Not going to let this shit slide.
Isaac Ward
Starting to see a pattern?
Tyler Brown
Refresh as much as you want this page, you will NEVER see the meta comments.
Jack Ross
You can still make comments here: >> Because there were already comments before they fucked up their code.
Colton Walker
Supposed to be a link to the front page of Jow Forums
Asher Green
Lets say cnn doesnt like the comments left on an article’s dissenter; what stops them from flooding the dissenter comments with spam to make it useless for that page?
(Nobody will sort through spam and shills to see the good comments)
Nathan Hall
I wonder why that is. Are you people that stupid?!??! It's infuriating. Keep hydrating yourself on tap water my frens.
Blake Butler
You've already outlined how it works in your previous post, is it too much of a stretch to imagine an bug in the code that creates the database entry for a previously unused URL. If it's still out on Monday I'll start buying the "something more fucky is going on", right now I'm going with "teething pains".
Ethan Jenkins
Not at all, why would moviechat.org be blacklisted? seems like a more widespread issue to me. heres another one
>what stops them from flooding the dissenter comments with spam to make it useless for that page? Not caring what some right wingers are saying about their articles.
Jose Clark
Op is a cancer jew, it works fine (chrome)
Luis Hill
Spam is something that will be sorted with votes. Same as Youtube comments. But not being able to comment on ANY URLs, like what was promised, is a deal breaker. I want to be able to meta comment on this very fuckign thread. And any stupid shitposting thread that I post on this shithole. Because all that should matter, is the fucking URL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If anything can block me from doing so, this whole system is absolute shit.
Julian Bell
They can do this 99% of the time but every now and then they will be assblasted about comments which is why they block comments in the first place.
Brayden Barnes
But people have to opt in to see these comments. For the vast majority of visitors they won't exist.
Jonathan Wilson
I didn’t realize it had some voting system; which still isn’t ideal...
Can comments be deleted under any circumstance? Or user IP banned?
Also don’t know how they handle how youtube links sometimes follow different url’s but for the same video which will fragment the comments.
Camden Martin
>Deal breaker Doesn't pay a cent for it. Just fuck off already.
Josiah Hughes
If this system and add-on doesn't rely entirely on the URL and is somehow polling any type of additional data from the websites, it means that it's totally unreliable and should not be trusted at all, ever. This is my statement. Arguing for anything else, means that you are shilling to and advocating to compromise this new system. I hope that I am clear enough now.
Isaac Brown
People were using it last night perfectly
Owen Young
You are a retard. Sorry.
Cameron Morales
Yep, and now... It doesn't work. I wonder why.
Jonathan Nguyen
Anyone have any screencaps of interesting commend threads yet?
Jack Fisher
Are you asking me or pretending because you know. Can you please explain ehy it isnt working now?
Ethan Anderson
Maybe it doesn't work on fresh threads or threads that have less than 1 hour creation time. It works just fine on catalogs.
Why are you being a shill? I can already see your purple hair glowing.
Luke Scott
Post a screen of the meta comments you fucking fag.
Dylan Foster
Post a screen of the comments then. I'm waiting.
Anthony Williams
It most probably doesn't work on many NEW links or articles. either is deliberate to keep traffic down until they can expand servers.
Leo Peterson
Sure it is. Post a screen cap of the comments of this thread. We're all waiting. Fucking retard.
