I was a pretty committed libertarian for most of my adolescence, and that all utterly vanished once Jow Forums showed me the data of this country's demographics, and who they vote for.

Idly watching the Daily Show in middle and high school and watching Jon Stewart endlessly criticize Bush for the wars but then turn around and support all kinds of Israeli offenses against their neighbors. Then he made a huge deal about some elderly press veteran saying the kikes had no place in the middle east. Also had a high school teacher that hinted at his belief that 9/11 was a false flag in class. I privately had my suspicions too, and seeing a real person that was a respected member of the community endorsing that opinion changed my perspective. Aside from that, I'm ashamed to say that the Venus Project is what really got me started on thinking outside the box in a social and political capacity.
