That's not true, I worked with 2 Chechens and we would discuss politics and wars , some of the most interesting talks I had. They told me that they hate war but their unfortunate geographical location would not allow long periods of peace because it was in the middle of empires and a strategic location so the empires would engage in war to subdue the Caucasus. They said that they didn't like war but it was a big part of their life's since all of them had seen war and it's atrocities and had no choice but to either wage war to survive or be eradicated entirely so it's became a part of their culture to be strong and fight for their right to exist

Individually Chechens are probably some of the best fighters in the world. Both unarmed and armed combat. They are a tiny fraction the size of Russia, yet they BTFOed Russia in the first Chechen war, and the second Chechen war Russian "victory" has been nothing but a glorified bribe to stop them from rebelling again.
