It's THE approved version. It's mainly how some translations use "he" to refer to the Lord while the the KJV always refers to the Lord as the Lord. You can use AndBible to compare translations. I recommend adding the YLT (Young's Literal Translation).

For a catholic translation published roughly around the same time as the KJV, read the Douay Rheims version.
For a more contemporary English translation read the revised standard version 2nd catholic edition. If you’re having a hard time finding it, search for the ignatius bible. It’s the same thing.
