Regardless of how you feel about him, I think it’s pretty obvious that Mohammed is the most influential person in history.
First and foremost, the Muslim conquests that took over large swathes of the Middle East, Europe, and Asia were probably the most impressive in history. There was no notion of a large scale Arab army before Mohammed, and to be able to take over land previously controlled by the dominant Romans and Persians who had much more advanced equipment, organization, and experience is probably the most impressive feat of battle ever.
Islam currently accounts for about 24% of the population of the world, and is the fastest growing religion in the world, despite the popular criticism of it day after day. Islam is projected to overtake Christianity as the world’s most popular religion by the second half of the century.
Lastly, Islam is the only religion where a majority of adherents actually take the religion seriously. Half of Jews don’t even believe in God. Most Christians don’t even go to church, and the religion is not embedded in anyone’s lifestyle as actively as Islam. The original Bible is nowhere to be found, whereas the Qur’aan has been preserved.
