This degeneracy wasn't pushed by Republicans, they stayed the fuck away as that shit started growing, but with the internet you can't hide the paper trail. In the end Trump will only have trouble if he has to fight a perceived moderate and the reality is no Democrats can larp as moderates any more. To get the money they have to be extremists, to be anti-science.
