If you liked that film you should watch The Terror miniseries from AMC, OP. Its the rare modern show that isn't completely pozzed.
Its about a pair of English ships looking for the Northwest passage and everything goes to hell. Ultimately its about loyalty and cowardice and honor in the face of death. The actors do a great job, particularly Jared Harris.
PS: Unfortunately I've heard that they're making a second season which sounds like its going to be totally pozzed. Its about the Jap internment camps in WWII and the producers have already made comments about Trump detaining the poor Mexicans. But that doesn't effect the quality of the first season.

I don't think its based off a book this time. Apparently the producers had the idea that they could craft a series around the feel of the first season where supernatural elements bleed into a down to Earth setting. In this case Jap ghosts visit an internment camp which will provide them an opportunity to lecture us all about why we should have open borders.
