No, I'm a realist. Someone on the left will campaign on the issue and make 2020 that much harder. I want a landslide, not another close race. It's an inevitable issue, so I'd rather Trump grab the bull by the horns and steal enough votes from the young, disenfranchised/single issue voter base to make a difference.
1. Fed Deregulation, and more state's rights. Let each state decide to legalize or not for themselves. Trump just ends the ban on a Fed level.
2. Tax revenue for social and Law enforcement programs, enough to get either side of the aisle salivating.
3. Purple CA/NV/OR/WA. We own the issue and grab the single issue voters we KNOW would line up to vote for Trump, if he sold the idea to them correctly. 4. MSM conditioning...we force the left to attack the idea of legal Cannabis...they are screwed either way. Also, we woo the hippies by attacking Big Pharma in search of more "natural pain remedies" 5. Trump and the 2020 GoP wins with enough margin to never worry about Murkowski or Collins again. We get a Trump mandate, and a real 2nd term.
Pretty simple. Again, I'm a realist. This is low hanging political fruit that WILL be used against our side if we don't seize the initiative.
