What do you guys think about living in a rural or semi-rural location in your 20s?

I live 15 minutes from the city for half of the year in the middle of the forest. My only neighbours are drunk finns who keep to themselves.

Cant really ask for anything else.

Yes, I have done this. Tough move because everyone knows everyone. Your benefit is already being established. Becoming friends with people whose families have been friends for generations is challenging. Slower pace is nice and relaxing.

Small town life is great, I live inna woods outside a suburb. Wish I could live in small town Europe though.

Since it's a relatively small country, rural areas make for middle-class and upper-class getaways where people have a better quality of life, bigger houses and generally more income than people that live in cities. If you pick out a rural village in the UK, it's much more likely to house doctors, lawyers, teachers, managers, business owners, etc.

The only issue is that there's fuck all to do apart from maybe going to your local pub on a weekend and seeing the same middle-aged faces and living in a tiny bubble that nobody gives a fuck about for the rest of your days.

You have far more to do living in a city, especially as a young person, but it's not the best for everyone, especially if you're an autistic Jow Forumslack. But there are no niggers and the worst you get in a rural town/village is maybe a few bored teenagers with nothing better to do egging houses. Any minorities you do come across will come from educated middle-class backgrounds. So while you may not want them around, they're not going to be nigger punching you.

I rented a small house on a seasonal road ~30 minutes from my school for the last two years of college. I was the only occupied house on the road, other than a hermit across the creek that I never saw once. The creek had a nice plunge pool right in the yard, with a few trout in it. I also was fur trapping at the time, and it was the best time of my life. The back of the property directly a bordered an entire mountain of state land. This is east coast US by the way.
I could only afford it because I was going to school with the GI bill.

Credit is shot, got a repo on the docket. Was doing well and then lost it all living like a fucktard in the city. Had $60K saved at one point and wasted it all on booze, drugs, cars and a $1,500 rent. Figured the good times would keep on coming. It was difficult for me just to get out. I should have already declared bankruptcy years ago with the amount of debt I have. I also owe the IRS $20K. I'm in a mid-sized city in the south now. Overhead for rent, food and utilities is under $1K. Working dead end jobs and in my mid 30's so it's definitely going to take a while. May very well not work out for me but I can remind these young bucks of what not to do. Don't fall in the big city trap, don't be concerned with socializing with other 20 something fags and move to the country as soon as you are able. Don't wind up like me.

In your 20's is a problem because in early to mid points of your life you wan to be climbing the socioeconomic ladder and getting as many opportunities for yourself and that means being in a city. My advice is to find a small city (I'm I'm Norwich) which is mostly white and still quite comfy but has enough business to allow for the opportunity to learn and progress. Aim to live in villages outside of the city once you get to a family raising age.

My plan once I'm through the best of my career will be to move to somewhere remote however, I have plans to start looking at small villages and towns in Switzerland which are remote and quiet, but that's with an eye to retire. If you live healthy enough you have many years to live a comfy and quiet life somewhere remote.

Late 20s here, about to buy some rural land a build a house. IMO this is not feasible until you have a good chunk of change saved up and some useful skills. I blew most of my 20s working in metal fabrication and living at home. Now it's about to pay off but I can't say I've been enjoying my life these last 6 years. I also anticipate isolation living out there. I don't know what you want but I'm going for self-sufficiency with minimal expenses.
