If the NHS is this resistant to reform and the proper way of operation, then in the unlikely event of it regaining some semblance of good order, it would soon revert to type. There is a parallel healthcare system in the UK that is entirely private, embraces innovation, has waiting times measured in hours/days not weeks and you can turn up at any time of day and get emergency treatment. The costs are low enough for everyone to use them and for the really poor people, charities cover the worst of the costs.
