That could be explained as differences in economic status.

Poorer people would have to drink tap water more often, increasing fluoride levels. They would also have less access to quality early education which would negatively impact the child's devlopment.

You would need to get subjects whose only difference is the fluoride levels to rule out other variables but that's just not practical.

If my pineal gland is calcifying then why am I getting more spiritual as I age? When I was a kid I was basically an atheist.
