You need to get your argument on immigration right! The system of immigration must be less market regulated and more socially regulated, based on the needs of people and communities. High levels of immigration to meet the interests of the wealthy is not in the interests of people and communities. The current system if immigration has increased job competition, housing competition and competition for social services, no amount of social programs will successfully mitigate the impact of this system of immigration. Economies are defied by how labour is obtained, we should strive for an economy that does not rely on an unsustainable mode of obtaining labour through high levels of immigration. Etc...

Late reply, my bad but the three villages of Throckley, Newburn and Lemington are on the very border of Northumberland and Tyne & Wear but are between 30-45 minutes away from Newcastle upon Tyne, but either literally on the border or within 5 minutes of Northumberland, plus our local council and MPs are notoriously unreliable (its a Labour stronghold) and have done fuck all for us, they tear down green houses, build up new estates on all of our farms, they don't police anywhere, when people complain about not having bins, they try to trick people by moving bins from another part of the village somewhere else, all of our parks are burned down, the bin collections don't happen some weeks and no one cares, there's litter all over the fucking place with one street sweeper like a year. Northumberland's council is overall better.

So getting our county changed would be my running point. We were historically Northumberland too.

Most leftys run on emotion and suicidal altruism and the high it gives them. Make them high. Give them the emotions they desire most, whatever that may be. Stir them up. Use misdirection. Blame whoever you think they hate most (torys, whites, upper classes bla bla bla) introduce some new people to blame WITHOUT controversy: no jews, muslims, blacks etc. you know the deal. what you could do is VERY SUBTLY paint the jew as someone to blame for their problems without ever naming the jew, leftys already hate jews they just don't realise.

remember that people want certainty in these uncertain times. they want to think that multiculturalism wont end in conflict and death so make everything seem fine by making friends and being seen with minority groups. use comforting language. talk about things that sound like it will bring everyone together. appear hopeful yet with an edge.

best advice i could give without knowing you or your area.

I wouldn't bother helping Labour if you have any kind of talent. At least with the Tories you can hold back the tide, if only a little. If, or when, Labour does get back into power it'll be the same old destructive Blairite policies. If you expect any kind of serious role then you'll have to be complicit, thus furthering their aims. Denying them your abilities and giving them to some kind of right-wing party can only lessen their odds of success. Even if you don't join the Tories you could get involved in some other movement to shift the Overton window on issues such as immigration. The more traditional side of the Tories might be more your thing if you want something a little more permanent and are willing to hide your power level. Otherwise it's going for something closer to UKIP that can gain some kind of traction. You could possibly switch at certain points.

Talk about local stuff.
Talk about politicians of the old parties.
Talk about politicians who have learned to talk but not to act.
Talk about the public having nothing to lose.

you could also offer yourself up as a 'middle man' to 'cross the division' our country is currently in. everyones talking about being divided.

you could use your internal self to bridge the gap. someone who relates to the other side but won't compromise on X values. a rare voice of clarity in a crazy confused party.

present yourself internally as someone they want and makes them FEEL GOOD and externally as someone who can offer safety and stability and can get what they want done.
