To a certain degree welfare is necessary. At the point where robots are exceedingly prevalent what use is the standard human. There simply wouldn't be a need for 7 billion code monkeys. The three easy solutions I see are: 1. Simply put down the poor; Kill the unneeded. could lead to problems if we ever need a larger population later on but solves the problem for those at the top.
2. Lower the standard of living for the worthless class to the point where the cost is negligible. Keeps the population available if needed and when the cost of using human labor is on par with robots there is use for the lower classes.
3. You could provide welfare to the worthless classes. Honestly depends on how generous the top classes are at the time when labor is worthless. This one is kinda the goal for me at least because the other two just lead to my death/slavery.

You can't, its human nature. Until humans evolve to not be influenced by emotions, it will never stop. Even if you do like this shooter shithead says, and split up all the races and cultures into their own groups, it will only be a matter of time before those groups start attacking eachother. I really believe our best bet forward is space. Not so much in colonizing Mars, but asteroid mining for resources. Because if we make resources plentiful it would ease the inequity in our world, but even this wouldn't be a perfect solution. I don't think there is one
